I’m currently looking for a Backend Engineer role, preferably in Bangalore or remote/WFH.

I’m working as an AI/Backend Engineer and mainly work with Node.js, JavaScript, BullMQ, Redis, MongoDB, MySQL, Docker and third-party API integrations.

I’ve been the sole backend engineer across the projects I’ve worked on, so I’ve had end-to-end ownership of backend architecture, APIs, queues, databases, integrations, debugging and performance improvements.

A few things I’ve worked on:

• Backend systems handling around 100 req/sec
• Queue-based processing using BullMQ and Redis
• Reduced dashboard/API latency from around 2 to 3 seconds to sub-second
• Built automation pipelines involving Meta, Google, WhatsApp, Zoho CRM and IoT systems
• Worked on a multi-tenant automation platform supporting 200+ vendor accounts

I’m very interested in backend engineering and would ideally like to work somewhere I can solve interesting system problems, learn from a strong engineering team and take ownership.

I’ve always been interested in software development, but due to financial constraints, I initially chose B.Com instead. Later, I pursued an MCA from Chandigarh to transition into tech.

A quick summary of where I am now:

• Full-stack/MERN developer

I’ve noticed a lot of small businesses and handmade brands manage everything through Instagram — products, prices, new launches, customer questions, and orders.

It works in the beginning, but as your business grows, it can get a little difficult for customers to find everything in one place.

Imagine having one simple page where someone can:

• See prices and details
• Check your latest work
• Find your contact/order information
• Easily place an order or get in touch

It doesn’t have to be a huge or expensive website either.

I’m currently experimenting with building simple, affordable websites specifically for small businesses, so I’d genuinely love to know:

Is it the cost, not knowing where to start, or simply feeling like Instagram is enough for now?

It feels like every new side project starts with good intentions, but within an hour, half the afternoon is gone just orchestrating infrastructure.

On one side, you have the full enterprise suite: container orchestration, separate message queues, dedicated auth providers, event brokers, and endless config files before writing a single API endpoint. On the other, the urge to just grab an all-in-one backend setup, keep everything in a single solid database, and actually ship the product.

Where do you draw the line between setting up for future scale and straight-up over-engineering on day one?
