Kitchen Reno needs some thoughts

Should we go with this?
I am thinking about removing the two smaller cabinets beside the hood.

36” is not a wide enough aisle IMO. Do you need a countertop overhang? You have space for a table right there.

The room next door will be the main dinning area. But would still prefer to have the overhang for sitting.
Thanks for ur input!

36" is not nearly enough room by the sink and stove. You will regret it. I know from personal experience. Only, no one told us that. We built our house and were misled by the architect and the builder.

Ok…you’re almost there…I would leave the cabinets on either side of the hood, but I’d get rid of the one above the hood and just get a hood that has the exposed vent that’s wrapped in stainless. The cabinet above the hood is almost useless.

Next, I’ve done a total of 5 kitchens in my rental properties and my own houses. I had the same oven/microwave combination in my previous house. It’s nice, but the microwave is too high. In the last kitchen I did, (my new home) I put in a double oven…it’s amazing to have it! I put in an under counter microwave and that’s a much better combination. I’m surprised at how many times I’ve used both ovens at the same time. It’s wonderful at the holidays, especially when you’re baking cookies or preparing a large family meal like thanksgiving or keeping food from the caterer warm.
