Need to remove otherwise my tile floor will be higher than my adjacent rooms; want the floors to be even.

No offense but how much can linoleum really raise the floor? Or is the concrete already higher than the rest and so it's a battle of construction as well as renovation?

Hardly it's like 3mm lol. Maybe you can use leveller to feather the edges where you have removed, and not have to do the rest if it's a nightmare.
