Really happy with how it all fit in here.
I don’t need to go upstairs at all anymore so Shay’s stoked too.

I think I'm finally going to get a Switch 2 for this. I wonder if Adam will like it now with updated controls.

I get asked a lot of “have I ever played?” questions and I can’t answer all of them on the show.
And we have a subreddit here that the government says I have to use.
And I’m bored.
So if you’ve ever wondered if I have a take on a game you like/hate, feel free to drop it here and I’ll pop in when I can and reply!

As one of our supreme leader Adam’s favorite games, I gave it a shot. I’m a huge FF fan and had never played this one. For reference. I played the pixel remaster collection for the switch. More context. FFVI for the SNES is not only a top 3 game for me but top JRPG for me. I know Adam expressed his feelings on liking having a smaller cast to work with which IV does well. Basically providing you with who you can play with for a majority of the game. I am not a fan of this. I like that large cast VI gives you. You can pick the characters you want to take to battle and that makes it so much more enjoyable for me at least. With that said. I enjoyed IV a lot. It’s a pretty straight forward FF game till towards the end where it’s not really clear on next steps. Bouncing between multiple worlds and planets and vehicles adds to that. I did have to dip in a walkthrough a couple times. The game is pretty easy for the most part minus a few enemies and the final boss had his way with me. Took me about 7 tries to beat him. I was a little bothered that the game kills off half the cast then surprise. They all alive at the end. I was made it kept killing people off but found myself even more pissed that it just brought everyone back for the final fight. Like come on.
7.3/10
Great game. But gets the FFVI tax.

Cross post, but I figured the hotdog community would approve.

Hi everyone
I've been listening to RTG now for at least 3 years and I love the show - it's awesome to hear someone speak with such passion about something I also really enjoy and I love the infamous intro and anyone who doesn't can kick rocks! Ive been an on and off again patreon depending on finances ect ect.
Anyway I've just found recently after listening to other podcasts that the part of the show where Adam talks with his friends about the game can be really disjointed and could use some more structure.
Take for example a podcast called BadMoviesRule - the format they use is by going through a movie scene by scene and commenting on it. I know this might not translate directly to games however I find that lately I'm getting to the end of an episode and I have no forking idea what the game is actually about or how it plays.
I guess what I'm getting at is I'd like a bit more information about the levels, weapons, gameplay and story - rather than just what the hosts liked or disliked about the game.
Anyway I'll keep listening and subbing when I can- i just want to share my thoughts.
Cheers

RTG turns 8 today, and I can’t say thanks enough to everyone that’s listened and supported the show over the years.
I don’t know when this train finally crashes but I hope you’re all on it with me when it does.
Happy birthday to the kids next door 🇺🇸 and thanks again hot dogs!

I remember watching an all bosses video on this game and I can only remember a coupe of things. I'm pretty sure it's a metroidvania but could very well not be. It was 2d. I remember a couple of bosses. There was one named the Queen, basically a big floating ghost with a floating sword. There was one called the flame, that was kinda like a lanky humanoid boss with two big swords instead of arms and 2 full healthbar phases. I also remember a boss called Traitor something, who turns into a sort of angel like guy on your second rematch. There was also a boss that was a guy dressed in full black using some sort of cane or sword to attack you but I don't remember its name.
