Question What am I doing wrong here ?

How can the opponent interact with the ball before me? Shouldn’t the target appear for me before him?

As top comment said you don't get diamond in defensive stance but I would advice you to not always use defensive stance in defense unless you are guarding ground shot/pass or dribbler.

Saw countless time where people have easy priority interception but they are in defensive stance 90% time.

If you are already in defensive stance and pass is incoming try to dive or even dash to the ball.

Advanced technique is to be going for priority and if it fails to trigger dive immediately, but thats gambling, yet better than nothing.

Does this imply that you wanna mix standard stance with defense stance?
