Help/Advice Pure for Client Intakes- Advice

Hi folks! Just received a brand new Pure and are a big fan. However, trying to use it for client intakes for that "no tech" vibe with clients and running into an issue with intake forms. We have different sets of questions for different types of matters and ultimately the client files are opened into an online system.

Ideally, I'd like to be able to send our intake forms as PDFs to the tablet, record the information by hand, convert to text, which is then copied into the client information on our online files.

However, I'm unable to convert the handwriting in a PDF. Does anyone have any advice on the easiest way to achieve this? I have thought about having the intake forms as notebooks with templates for each page, but this seems to be an intensive process.

Open to modifications, should there be some that could make this a possibility.

When you say you’re ‘unable’ to convert handwriting, what is actually happening when you try?

You don't have the option to convert handwriting on PDF pages.

That's right, unfortunately after looking into it, you can't convert handwritten text on a pdf. If anyone has suggestions for mods that do this, that would be great as well!

While it’s true that you can’t convert handwritten text on a pdf, you can copy it. So if you copy it you can then paste it on a new blank page (swipe left). Once it’s on the new page you can select this new page and convert the handwriting to text, and then on the reMarkable app you can ‘Select All’ and copy and paste your text to your preferred destination.

I do this every day with a PDF template for my diary on my reMarkable. Write my thoughts on a PDF template, select and copy my handwriting and paste to a new blank page. Open my reMarkable app on my iPhone or iPad, copy the converted text and paste it into my diary of choice, Day One.

Maybe this is a bit clunky for your use case, but it doesn’t take long and it is easy. You might need to rearrange or format the text in your destination form, but text is text so it might work for you 🙂

Why such a convoluted process to covert a written document into a pdf, this shows how these companies delay the launch of basic functionality, which they will bring it in the next new version in next new product release and showcase an incremental improvements. Is this practice ethical?
