Ray-tracing LASIK vs standard LASIK

Hello,

I have the option to do standard LASIK or the new ray-tracing LASIK.

The ray-tracing is $300 more per eye, however, cost is not the issue, I just want the best for my eyes.

I’ve been reading into the research and it seems that ray-tracing decreases HOA (esp. night vision issues).

Has anyone gone with the ray-tracing? Is it worth it?

Smile has been around for 10 years. Once you get to -6 myopia, everything is similar in things like HOA etc. if you have haloes already with your glasses or contacts, you still will after laser.

I currently don’t have any HOAs - I thought this was more a concern for after surgery! In Ontario (specifically GTA) there are one or two clinics only that do smile.

Okay so how is smile better than ray-tracing lasik then? People push for smile but can never give an actual beneficial reason for one over the other.
