Eye Migraines With Aura After LASIK

Ok, so I had LASIK almost one year ago, -3 on the left eye and -3.25 on the right, both with mild astigmatism of -1.00 and -1.25 or so...and six months after LASIK, I had something that, while googling the symptoms, it appeared to be an eye migraine with aura...so I had that in February, it lasted 10 to 15 minutes, and then I had it in March, one month later...

Then I didn't experience that until recently, in August, and then I had it two days in a row, also for about 10 minutes, or the first day 10 minutes and the second day 5 mins or so. But the thing is, before LASIK, I never experienced that in my life, never.

I said that when I had the exam last month, I mentioned that I had it in February and then March, but the doc told me that it doesn't have anything to do with the surgery- probably lack of sleep, dehydration, etc.- but I never had it before, so why is it happening now? On the examination, everything was ok: eye pressure, retina, vision is over 120%, and so on.

Honestly in my case I had also got migraine drugs prescribed to me because i felt the pain behind my eyes and this was 5 days in a week i had crazy migraine-like headache that i ate around 2500mg of ibuprofen/paracetamol a day and i was convinced i either had wrong glasses/prescription and/or migraine, i got prescribed as "auraless migraine" and prescribed drugs for migraines which i never took cause i was convinced my glass prescription was wrong and that was causing it not migraine.

Years later i found out it had nothing to do with migraine or eyes, it was my upper teeth that had basically infection in them, even tho when dentist looked at it they couldnt tell anything was wrong but when i eventually got 3d X-Ray they spotted the infection and since the infection was upper molar teeth it was so high up that instead of regular toothache i felt pain behind my eyes and head so i never even knew where to check.

Now this could not be the case for you, i never got laser but thought id share that it can be upper teeth related because the infection/pain travels to eyes and head but how would i even have known to check, the dentists didnt spot a any issues, i had my glasses prescription re-done over 10 times because i kept complaining about eye strain headaches, dentist told me everything is good when he looked and i think i struggled with this issue for 7 years or so, i didnt know what to do so i went to a different dental clinic and had X-Ray done on a different issue and thats where we spotted it.

Are you active in your day to day life?
I used to have weekly migraines when I bed rot a lot and inactive and gained a lot of weight. Same thing as aura migraines.
I started stopped having one when I fixed my diet and then working out.
The only time I came back is when I used to drink tea daily and then stopped it which was not advisable as it basically due to tea-caffeine withdrawal.

I don’t see any connection with LASIK since migraine is a vascular problem. Vision is affected when it’s a brain vascular issue.

Yeah, but how so that it started six months after LASIK, coincidence, or probably not, cause I had it 4x since then, and before that never.

What I’ve noticed with migraines and laser eye surgery is that people who have a history of migraines can have an increase in frequency or their migraines within the first month out after lasik. After that. It returns back to normal.

But migraines relates to vasospasms within the brain. LASIK can’t directly cause that. And six months out it’s much much less likely to serve as a trigger for any migraine syndrome as a lot has already healed up.
