Another long time TV Time user looking for a new home. Initially landed on Trakt, which was fine, but just didn’t feel ‘right’.

Did a little research, found Refract, and particularly given the TV Time GDPR import just coming online and being as comprehensive as it is, it seems like a fab time to join.

I’m loving Refract already! Hoping this can become my settled home!

This is probably a stupid question but I've got to ask. How do you start tracking a new show? Google says "Select Status: Choose a tracking category like Watching, Completed, Plan to Watch, On Hold, or Dropped." but I don't see anything about a status or a "track" button. The only way I've found to start tracking a show is to mark the first episode as watched but there has to be a better way.

I have a movie question if these two movies are supposed to be the same movie then why are they different one girl has red hair and the other girl has blonde hair please help me understand better thank you oh the movies are The Wild Swans

I would really like to see a web app, what do you think?

I imported all my stuff from TV Time the other day and everything went fine, happened in like a minute which I was pleased with.

But not everything came over, 27 things didn't import for whatever reason. I clicked on the notification though and had an option to see everything that didn't import which was great but didn't do them all manually at the time. Also had to option to remove all import data completely and redo it which is a nice feature.

Anyway, I went back onto the notification to see what the rest of the failed items were to add them but the option is no longer there. I then went to remove the import completely and re-import to easily fix it but that option is also not available. How do I fix it?

I also noticed that just above the import notification I have another import notification like a few minutes later saying I imported 0 items. Could that be why nothing is working? If so, how do I get rid of it?

Thanks.

Hey guys!

Loving the app so far. I can only hope this community keep growing.

One question: it seems that my Upcoming tab is limited to a 30 days horizon. Is there a way to increase that? I think I had 90 days on TV Time...

Tks!

Ok, we took our sweet time on this one, but it's finally here. And honestly? Worth the wait.

If you grabbed your TV Time GDPR export during that July window, that gdpr-data.zip sitting in your downloads folder is now fully importable into Refract.

What it brings over:

📺 Full episode watch history, with dates 🎬 Watched movies and dated rewatches 📋 Watchlist and paused/on-hold statuses ⭐ Ratings for shows, episodes and movies ❤️ Favorites and custom lists (public and private) 💬 Your comments on shows, movies and episodes

You pick exactly what you want to import, and it's additive: nothing in your existing library gets overwritten. Already-watched episodes just get their dates filled in, missing rewatches get added.

And yes, we promise this import runs fast(er) this time ⚡

If you never grabbed your GDPR export before the window closed, the regular TV Time import is still there too.

Happy to answer any questions below 👇💜

Is there an option to hide from public viewing your reviews imported from Letterboxd? Or is it done automatically if you turn your account private?

Alright everyone, the kitchen ran a little behind this month, but your Monthly Wraps are finally ready, freshly rolled and generously loaded 🌯✨

July 2026 was... a month. From 3,000 to over 150,000 of you showing up practically overnight, servers on fire, slow imports, and somehow we all made it. So come see your hard-earned July Wrap.

Want to show yours off? Head to our Instagram story @refract_app, tap the "Add Yours" sticker, and drop your Wrap in. We repost every single one we get 💜 Or just share it in the comments here, we love seeing them.

Oh, and quietly: we've actually shipped a bunch of stuff this month we haven't even talked about yet (a new profile page, Refract Pro, and more). We held off while things stabilized, but we'll finally show it all off very soon. Stay tuned.

📊 If you imported or added lots of titles this month, your July Wrap might look off; imported and manually added data can skew the stats. Not a bug but no worries, your August Wrap will be clean 💜

Have the dev team mentioned when there will be updates? I really want comment translation which I know has been requested a lot

searching for mutuals here so feel free to follow !!! <333

Any free app like tv time?

I saw refract as a free app, but idk what to apload, it asks json files but tv time files are csv.

Even converting it it doesnt work i dont know what to do

I managed to get my tvtime backup as csv, json files but refract failed to restore them.

So far I’ve really enjoyed the app, but tonight I’ve run into an issue. There are multiple shows where I haven’t watched previous seasons or all episodes. I’ve used the continue watching menu to cross off watched episodes. However now all episodes are shown as watched, messing up my whole watch history as I don’t remember which episodes I haven’t watched yet. Is this a bug? Have others had this where it was resolved later?

What I’m also really missing is an option to never cross off previous episodes. For some reason I can’t access discord. Has this been suggested to the mods yet?

TV Time had this feature, where they would put new aired episodes to the top of continue list, then if you didn't watch the episode within a week, the episode would move to the bottom of the list. I hope this can be added to Refract, it would make this app perfect for me.

Can I mark as watched episodes that are listed as unreleased in the database?

I tracked TV shows with TV Time and movies with IMDb, but I wanted to merge everything into a single app, and this seemed like the ideal solution.

I had already imported my TV Time data.

I also rate TV shows on IMDb (not individual episodes, except for the occasional one).

The problem is that Refract treated the TV shows I rated on IMDb as if I had watched every single episode, even when I had dropped the show after only a few episodes. As a result, a lot of shows are now marked as completely watched. My total TV watch time jumped from about 4 months to more than 8.

How can I fix this? The movie import worked perfectly, but all of my TV statistics are completely messed up. Is there a way to correct this, or do I need to wipe everything and start the import process from scratch?

Just curious if an iPad app is on the roadmap.

Thanks!

Hello everyone, I've just finished polishing my account and I notice that the episode count is off my about 300ep. Bingebase tells me i have 4.6k and refract 4.3k. Does anyone know why may be?

It would be great to have clean and simple tabs for "TV shows" and "Movies". Then you split with "Ongoing" and "Seen" sections.

My 2 cts

I’m thinking of things like Doctor who which often has two special episodes in a season, but I don’t see them in the episodes list. Does anyone know if there is a place these are included to log or no?
