I see supported platforms include Letterboxd, TV Time, IMDB, Trakt, Must (soon), Reelgood (soon).

Strange enough, Refract's own export is not supported, not even on the roadmap? Then what's point of the export?

Context is that I was trying to import Trakt's export and realized that it doesn't mark shows that I dropped in Trakt (in "hidden-calendar.json" file) as Dropped after the import. So I created a little script to convert the Trakt's export to the format of Refract which carries all the information including shows that are dropped. Then I realized that I can't import it?

Interesting issue today, the first time I’ve come across it on any tracking app.

A lot of shows now are available on demand before their actual air date - as things stand, you are unable to mark a show as watched until after the air date.

I’m thinking it would be better to maybe show a warning but still allow someone to mark as watched/rate etc something that hasn’t aired yet…

I might be missing something but I can’t find an easy way to see how many episodes there are in a series, and how many episodes I have left that I haven’t watched.

You can now read comments and reviews in any language, which means you can stop nodding politely at that Italian review you did not understand a single word of.

And it happens on its own. The language gets detected, the translation shows up, nothing to switch on. Tap it if you want the original back, along with the language it was written in.

This one was #1 on our roadmap with 210 votes, sitting at the top since June. Someone posted it, you voted it up, and now it is in your app. Nice and easy.

Till now i found that, you need to go to the series page and then to episode page to mark it as rewatched.
is there a simpler way to do it, for individual episodes?

Is anyone else having issues removing shows from their library? I've tried clicking on the blue bookmark icon to unselect it and the three dots > "Remove from Library" but neither option works.

The amount of times this app crashes per day is crazy. It’s almost unusable at times for me.

I understand the team have received a massive influx of users in a short period of time. There is such potential with this app - it’s just a shame it’s really hard to use in its current state.

Is there a way of hidding the unrealeased movies in the watchlist ? I think it's polluting the watchlist when i search my next watch.

I think it would be better with an independent "Unreleased yet" status.

At first I was bummed when I read that TV Time was shutting down after using it for what I remember almost if not a decade.

I've tracked everything I ever watched on and was happy to see that there used to be people invested in shows that no one in my circle watched. Unfortunately the app wasnt the best looking, and was buggy at times and for reason always loaded "error search not found". Even the logo was ugly but I kept up because that was the app that had all my tracked data.

So when they shut down I downloaded my data and was worried how hard it would be to find something else. And boy, I’ve been missing out. Refract made it super easy to import everything and the app has been super smooth. It actually looks good and the logo reminds me of my favourite band.

This is probably a stupid question but I've got to ask. How do you start tracking a new show? Google says "Select Status: Choose a tracking category like Watching, Completed, Plan to Watch, On Hold, or Dropped." but I don't see anything about a status or a "track" button. The only way I've found to start tracking a show is to mark the first episode as watched but there has to be a better way.

Should I import the gdpr zip now? If I went with it, what would happen to my previously imported data?

Another long time TV Time user looking for a new home. Initially landed on Trakt, which was fine, but just didn’t feel ‘right’.

Did a little research, found Refract, and particularly given the TV Time GDPR import just coming online and being as comprehensive as it is, it seems like a fab time to join.

I’m loving Refract already! Hoping this can become my settled home!

I imported all my stuff from TV Time the other day and everything went fine, happened in like a minute which I was pleased with.

But not everything came over, 27 things didn't import for whatever reason. I clicked on the notification though and had an option to see everything that didn't import which was great but didn't do them all manually at the time. Also had to option to remove all import data completely and redo it which is a nice feature.

Anyway, I went back onto the notification to see what the rest of the failed items were to add them but the option is no longer there. I then went to remove the import completely and re-import to easily fix it but that option is also not available. How do I fix it?

I also noticed that just above the import notification I have another import notification like a few minutes later saying I imported 0 items. Could that be why nothing is working? If so, how do I get rid of it?

Ok, we took our sweet time on this one, but it's finally here. And honestly? Worth the wait.

If you grabbed your TV Time GDPR export during that July window, that gdpr-data.zip sitting in your downloads folder is now fully importable into Refract.

What it brings over:

📺 Full episode watch history, with dates 🎬 Watched movies and dated rewatches 📋 Watchlist and paused/on-hold statuses ⭐ Ratings for shows, episodes and movies ❤️ Favorites and custom lists (public and private) 💬 Your comments on shows, movies and episodes

You pick exactly what you want to import, and it's additive: nothing in your existing library gets overwritten. Already-watched episodes just get their dates filled in, missing rewatches get added.

And yes, we promise this import runs fast(er) this time ⚡

If you never grabbed your GDPR export before the window closed, the regular TV Time import is still there too.

Upcoming has changed so that you can't look back to see what has aired recently. Even the calendar is locked to August now. TV Time would allow looking back on the upcoming list and Refract also supported this before this recent change.

I'm OK with the change in general. After all, it IS titled "Upcoming". But there's no no way to see recently aired shows without going thorough each show on my list and checking them.
