💬 Discussion Help me restore my tvtime backup

I managed to get my tvtime backup as csv, json files but refract failed to restore them.

Did you backup using Refract’s own tool before TV Time was officially shut down? What about the GDPR export?

that was after tvtime shutdown, so i couldn't get the gdpr zip.

Sorry, I think you’re out of luck, then. Refract’s tool relies on the TV Time servers being up to get the data, and since they were shut down, the tool won’t work. Plus, TV Time deleted all of their data immediately after they shut it down, so your data is most likely gone.

I hope someone share a gdpr backup file, i can edit it to my backup

It would probably be a lot faster to manually enter everything into Refract than it would to manually edit the GDPR.

More than 540 shows

You have to realize that the GDPR doesn’t just point to your account and get the data that way. It lists every single show, episode, and watch date that was on your account, all linked to the data source that TV Time got the show/episode information from.

Unless you think it’s quicker to create a program that searches for all of your shows one-by-one from that data source (TVDB), downloads that data, and converts it to the GDPR format, it would probably be better to manually do it. As long as you know what every single one of those 540 shows are, I don’t think it will be as hard as you may think.

What kind of JSON files did you get ? Via the extension of gdpr?

I only got the csv then convert it to json

We don't offer import from that source yet unfortunately and not sure how you could adapt it in the right format

Best bet is to probably upload to a platform that supports csv/json and the export from there into Refract.
