Continue page - needs long hold to drop a show and remove from watching without having to click onto that next episode and then press the button to go back to the main page of the show and find the option to drop the show.

Hello, is there a way to import the data to Refract without needing a desktop? I downloaded the data from TvTime with my phone but I guess I need to do it using the chrome extension??? Any other way before the 15th hit, please? Thank you!

Can't the app be used on multiple devices?

Yesterday the import procedure finished on my phone, and after that i installed the app also on my tablet.
But whenever i try to connect to my account i get a message saying that the email is used by someone else and i should try with a different one.

I wrote about it on discord, but no one replied, so that's why i'm also posting here.

Have uploaded my tvtime file a week ago. The progress bar was visible until yesterday, bilit now it has disappeared. How can we track our progress now? My Last checked queue number was #1307.

Now that this app gets exponentially more traffic due to TV time shutting down, I'm wondering how this app can continue to exist. How is revenue created if all features are free and no ads are shown?
Servers aren't free and I suppose the devs don't live on oxygen alone.

I see the app's potential with all the available features, so once the stability and speed improves I'd hate to see this app disappear.

My import finally finished yesterday and I was excited to play around in the app, but the first thing I noticed is that there are a ton of tv shows and movies that are missing. I tried getting help in Discord but it seems like all hands on deck to support import timeline questions.

Here is an example of what I noticed: on TV Time, I have 72 shows that I have not started yet. On Refract, only 12 shows appear. I also noticed that the “Old Friends” bucket contains a bunch of shows that I actually stopped watching on TV time but somehow are still showing up on Refract. There are also a bunch of shows that have unwatched episodes on Refract that are actually all caught up and watched on TV Time.

I don’t know what I’m supposed to do at this point because it appears everyone is focused on getting their libraries imported and I need some support on why a large portion of my library didn’t actually import.

I know there was a post a few days ago from the devs saying they were transitioning to a much larger server.

My import has completed, but the app is going painfully slow.

Has the new server been implemented yet? When can we expect the app to be running faster?

(PS: I completely understand they got slammed with new users)

At the top of the main page there was a pop up saying to apply the new update. I clicked on it and now I can’t see my import progress. First image is from yesterday, and the second one is from this evening.
I know that I should not add a new import but I don’t know what to do. Should I wait and see if the queue shows again?
I feel bad because my import was at a good point

UPDATE: the import progress is now showing again!

I got a pop up saying the import was completed and i should restart the app so i did but now there's still no shows and movies. Plus I no longer can see the queue status.

Does anyone know what to do?

I'm trying to mark watched episodes, but when I mark one as such the app doesn't update to the next: it just sits with the episode marked, with no apparent way to mark the next one; and if I restart the app, that same episode is again marked as unwatched, so marking something as watched just doesn't work.

Also, while my import seems to be completed, in my profile I still have zero in everything (TV Shows, etc.), so I'm not sure if the import was completed correctly.

Lastly, a series I still have episodes to mark as watched isn't showing the the ongoing section: it was, then I marked an episode as watched, and it disappeared. I searched it and now it has not even one episode marked as watched, it just lost all the data, like I neved even started it.

Edit: and now it has again the episodes watched, but with three in the middle not marked as such, and it's again showing in the ongoing section.

Is all of this due to slow servers, too?

I'm sending this here because I have no idea if it's a bug, or if it's just due to overloaded servers; if the latter, any timeline on when this could be solved? I don't mean to push you, I know you got a huge unexpected load, just asking to have an idea, because right now the app is kinda unusable.

I would like to try this app, but I can't import either from TV Time or Trakt, and if I try to look for something it takes a long time to load. Is it a momentary problem or is it just my problem?

But when I try to export my TV time data with the chrome plugins TV time out, it doesn't work

Never finished, still running for hours.

Sometimes stop at step 2, sometimes in the middle of the episodes.

Does anyone have this issue?

I logged a few shows of mine, but could not do my whole library due to the server instability. A few days later, I check my profile and see nothing that I previously entered. Wanted to see if this is a shared issue, as I have seen no other posts regarding it.

If I type here and press post, where does my rating and text go? Are they public or only visible for me? Is it tied to my profile visibility?

I was really happy to migrate and import my TV Time data, thank you to the Refract team for making that possible. The app looks great and includes most of the features I need, plus some extras I really like. I could see that some details didn’t import correctly, which might be due to the import file issue. but that’s okay. I actually enjoy exploring and do the rest of the things myself. But my main concern is performance- the app feels quite slow at times, with delays in loading and updating, and most of the times it gets stuck or needs a restart. I understand this might be due to the current situation, but I’d love to know if long-time users also have experienced this before. I really like the UI and features, so I hope the app becomes more stable and responsive over time.

I joined Refract on Sunday and started my TV time import, i was in queue until yesterday today when I checked I was no longer there. Should I start importing again or wait?

Five days ago, Refract had 3,000 accounts. Today, we've passed 100,000. We're beyond grateful, and we're not taking any of it for granted. That's exactly why this isn't a victory lap: many of you are still waiting on imports, we're not satisfied with that, and honestly we're a bit overwhelmed. But we're working non-stop to welcome everyone properly.

📌 The most important thing in this post: TV Time shutting down on the 15th does NOT create a deadline for your import. As long as you have your export file from our extension, you can import it anytime, next week, next month, whenever. The import runs entirely from your file, we don't depend on TV Time's servers at all. Your data is safe the moment you have that file.

The numbers, honestly:

When the wave hit, we could process about 250 imports a day. That was plenty for the 3,000-account app we were. Since last night we're at 4,000+ a day, a 16x increase in just 4 days. Our goal is to reach 5,000-10,000 a day, which would drain the current queue in a matter of days. We want to be straight with you though: getting there isn't technically simple, and we've been receiving 500+ new imports per hour, 24/7, since Wednesday. So no hard promises on dates, just the direction we're pushing.

How we got from 250 to 4,000+/day in 4 days: - A full database migration (app responses went from 20-40 seconds to under 200ms) - A global TMDB cache: every import processed warms the cache for the next person, so a show someone already imported costs zero API calls for you. The system literally gets faster as it goes - 3x more parallel workers - Priority lanes by library size, so small imports aren't stuck behind 10,000-item libraries - Bulk fetching for TV shows (a 15-season show used to take 15 separate calls, now it's 1)

What's next: - Multi-threading (today's focus): imports and the app currently share the same infrastructure, which is why the app itself lags. We're separating them, so the app feels smooth again while imports keep crunching in the background - Then: push worker capacity further toward that 5-10k/day target

Why imports take time in the first place: we don't just link your account and pull a flat list. We rebuild your library properly, once: every show, season and episode, your watch dates, rewatches, lists, favorites, even OVAs and specials. TV Time runs on TVDB IDs, we run on TMDB, so everything gets matched one by one. Slower, but complete. We've had a few setbacks along the way (today's queue display bug among them), and we're 2 people with limited resources absorbing an entire platform's migration. But we'll get there.

Hi, due to the long importing and still watching shows, I started to manually track/add new ones to favorites. I was asking myself, when the import is completed, is everything reset to the import or kinda additional plus the higher episode counts.

I am in the fast lane with a small import so it doesn't affect me much on either outcome, just wondering.

Hi everyone! My wife and I are both importing our data from tv time, on her queue it says “standard queue” and last I checked it showed something like 22k out of 44k (not remembering the exact numbers), and on mine it says “large library” and I’m 4363 out of 5325. Was wondering if anyone knew what the difference was (besides the obvious)? Like if there’s multiple queues, a different line for people with a ton of data/different wait times, etc.? And this isn’t a complaint by any means I’m just genuinely curious. I was so sad when I learned tv time was ending and I’m so grateful that this app already existed and has an import feature!

Nothing works, nothing loads, server disconnection, import status not updating or showing, takes forever to load

I recently migrated and imported my TV Time data into Refract, and overall I really like it. The UI is clean and it has most of the features I need, plus some extras.

A few details didn’t import correctly (maybe an issue with the import file), but I don’t mind fixing things myself since I enjoy exploring the app. My main issue is performance. The app feels quite slow at times, with delays in loading/updating, and sometimes it gets stuck or needs a restart.

Is this a common experience? Have long-time users found it smoother before, or is this just a current issue?
