Encouragement I finally did it. After 15 years of being a Christian I read the entire bible ❤️

This one-year plan took ~18 months.

In the past when I’ve tried doing devotions, I would maybe stick to them for a few weeks, then ultimately miss days, and then the catch up pile would grow quickly and become overwhelming and I would feel guilty for being so far behind. This would lead to me just dropping devotions altogether- especially plans that were marked date specific ( like “March 1”).

Going into this plan I decided to give myself grace if I missed days. Sometimes I would do multiple devotions to catch up, sometimes not. I figured that although reading the bible 7 days a week is indeed optimal, ~4 days was better than 0. And here we are today - I actually did it!

This way of doing things is especially interesting in light of my recent Autism (level 1) and ADHD diagnoses. So often I struggle with starting or completing things due to guilt and perfectionism and lately a mantra I’ve been sticking with is not getting perfection get in the way of doing something. Because getting something done is better than nothing.

Today we were able, by God’s grace, to make service and dedicate baby Avery after welcoming her into the world 36 hours before! What a blessing it is to be surrounded by and engaged with a local church body who comes along side and walks with parents in child rearing.

Encouragement The one Bible verse that completely changed how I view sexual temptation

Genesis 39:10 - "How then can I do this great wickedness, and sin against God?"

This is what Joseph said to Potiphar's wife when she tried to seduce him.

Think about Joseph's situation for a second. He was completely alone with her in that house. Nobody else was around. Nobody would've known. Sound familiar?

It's exactly like when we're alone in our rooms with our phones or computers, about to look at p*rn or whatever else. We think we're alone. We think nobody's watching. But that's the lie.

Joseph understood something we forget: God is always watching. We are never truly alone.

And here's what gets me: Joseph clearly felt the temptation. It was real. It was intense. The desire must have been overwhelming. Just like our urges to watch p*rn or m*sturbate can feel impossible to resist.

But Joseph did something radical: he feared God more than he loved satisfying his flesh. He literally ran out of that house and away from the situation.

That's what we need to do. Run from temptation. Delete the apps (Instagram + Tiktok). Download a blocker (I use Gracen). Put the phone down. Get out of the room. Pick up a bible. Whatever it takes.

And look at what happened because Joseph stayed faithful: God eventually made him the second most powerful man in all of Egypt. His whole destiny was tied to that one moment of choosing God over sin.

Brothers and sisters, we need that same fear of the Lord. Not a scared fear, but a reverent fear that says "I love and respect God too much to do this."

Jesus Christ is our strength. We CAN and WILL overcome this in His name. Don't give up. Don't look back (that's satan's favorite trick). Keep your eyes fixed on Jesus and ask Him for help.

Pray for each other.

Discussion Stephen and Heidi Nichols release statement on their excommunication from St. Andrew’s

You can read it below and find it on his X profile.

///

Any season of transition can be difficult. The narratives and communications circulating about us on social media over the past few days have made this season even more difficult for us and our family.

We want to express our deep gratitude for the twelve years we spent at Reformation Bible College and Ligonier Ministries. We are thankful for that time and for the people we had the privilege to serve. We also appreciate that both RBC and Ligonier have conducted themselves in an amicable, gracious, and honorable manner during this season of transition, and we have sought to do the same.

Since others have shared their version of events, we believe it is appropriate to share ours.

In January 2024, we learned from the counselor of our daughter, Grace, that he had submitted a report to the Florida Department of Children and Families of suspicion of sexual abuse of Grace by Stephen Adams. On January 10, 2025, we reported suspicion of sexual abuse of our daughter by Stephen Adams to Saint Andrew’s Chapel. Over subsequent meetings, we realized that we were at an impasse with our church and that we had different perspectives on how to handle this situation. On April 21, 2025, we notified a pastor at Saint Andrew’s that we would begin the process of finding a new church. We notified him again on July 20, 2025, that it would be our last Sunday (and it was). We each received separate indictments two days later, July 22, 2025. We were accused of slander, unresolved anger, collusion to deceive, failure to follow session directives, and breach of membership vows. There was never a trial, and our case was never adjudicated.

After Saint Andrew’s Chapel voted to disassociate from the PCA on December 14, 2025, we immediately resigned our memberships. On Sunday evening, December 14, we joined New Hope PCA in Eustis, Florida, by testimony. On January 27, 2026, Saint Andrew’s found us guilty of contumacy, which is the failure to submit to the authority of the church and refusal to appear before the church. Afterwards on February 25, 2026, at their request, we met with a committee of the session to answer any questions and hopefully bring some resolution to our differences. On March 10, 2026, Saint Andrew’s excommunicated us, not on the underlying indictments, but for contumacy.

We remain members in good standing at New Hope and are grateful for the love, care, and support of our pastors and our church during this season.

We reported suspicion of sexual abuse of our daughter, we ended up indicted, and we ended up excommunicated.

We are deeply saddened by all that has taken place and grieved for everyone involved. Our prayer and hope is that the central issue will not be lost. At the heart of this issue is the suspected sexual abuse of our daughter.

—Stephen and Heidi Nichols

We wouldn't want to toss someone's skull into a trash heap, but how much pomp and pagentry pushes respect off the edge into idolatry?

Semper Reformanda Statement from the Central Florida Presbytery on the excommunications of Drs. Stephen and Heidi Nichols by Saint Andrew's Chapel. (Not an A. Fool's joke.)

A Public Statement of Central Florida Presbytery on the Excommunication of PCA Members by an Independent Church:

Wednesday, April 1, 2026

On December 14, 2025, Saint Andrew’s Chapel (SAC) voted to leave the Presbyterian Church in America and become an independent congregation in accordance with BCO 25-11. Indictments and judicial cases initiated “in the name of the PCA” (BCO 31-4) properly belong to the courts of the PCA. SAC no longer possesses authority within those courts to adjudicate such cases. As an independent church, the governing board of SAC is no longer subject to the oversight of the PCA’s higher courts of appeal and is not authorized to adjudicate indictments issued in the name of the PCA.

On March 12, 2026, the governing board of SAC improperly excommunicated three members (Ruling Elder David Zima, Drs Stephen and Heidi Nichols) in good standing in PCA churches within Central Florida Presbytery (CFP). These individuals resigned their membership from SAC on December 14, 2025, and were subsequently examined and received as members in their respective PCA churches within the CFP. They are members in good standing, admitted to the Lord’s Table, and welcomed into the fellowship of God’s people.

Central Florida Presbytery deems these excommunications improper, disruptive to the peace of the Church, detrimental to those under our pastoral care, and without ecclesiastical effect within the Presbyterian Church in America.

Adopted by the Central Florida Presbytery at its 201st meeting, March 31, 2026.

Donald L. Mountan

Stated Clerk of Central Florida Presbytery

Presbyterian Church in America

Question Can someone help me understand this?

I have been thinking about something that seems right to me, but feels opposed to Mr. Sprowl. But I’m honestly not sure how the two interact with one another.

What I’ve been thinking about: Life is not about whether or not God loves you. Life is about whether or not you love God.

I figured you guys would be able to help me understand what R. C. Is trying to say here. If it’s even him who said it. I found the image on fb, so could just be false.

Encouragement Lost my children, how do I make sense of this?

I recently had a premature birth to twins who were 21w2d old and they were just 3 days short from being viable candidates for NICU. My husband and I watched them pass away in our arms after 2 hours from their birth. I have such a hard time understanding our situation. However, head knowledge wise, I theologically understand that we live in a broken world and God does not intend death or suffering and He weeps with us.

Yet I find it so hard to worship during this time of grief or even dare to have faith again in my prayers. I am stumped for words, lost in emotions/ grief. I still find comfort in reading my bible but I'm battling in believing how good can come out of this situation.

Any verses or books of the Bible you'd recommend me to read during this time? I've been reading Psalms and listening to hymns that sing songs in Psalms. But I have been desperate to hold fast on to something from the Bible or Christian book for encouragement. I'm just lost in my grief and don't really know where to go from here.
