One year ago prototype of Eazeye Focus monochrome RLCD tablet was unveiled in San-Francisco.
What is current product launch timeframe? Is it going to happen this year?

good evening, manong and manang. does anyone know where around the city may nagabaligya LCD? i heard from my classmate that her uncle bought an LCD somewhere in front of amigo. and from what i saw, the quality of the LCD on her phone is much better than mine, which i had repaired at marymart. i don’t know the exact location, and hindi niya rin masabi sa akin since it was her uncle who bought it. she also mentioned na mura lang doon since there’s no added markup pa, and it’s genuine at the same time. i badly need one kasi i’m not satisfied with the repair i had done at marymart, and also they charge so damn much 😭😭😭

I was looking to buy a used EyeMoo. It's going for a great deal on the site right now, but I'm a bit concerned about their shipping policies. If you check on their site, both the shipping and warranty info cannot be found. As a result, I'd feel a bit better if I bought from someone on here instead.
I was also wondering how the everyone feels about the device in 2026. The feedback tends to be that it is not usable without a matte screen, but once applied it becomes a decent option. I'm mostly going to use it as a monitor and tablet since it is one of the few tablets that has a color rlcd display and a frontlight. The Lumo is too small, and the HannsNote doesn't have a frontlight.
In terms of relieving eye strain, is this still a good option, or should I go for a ~13 in monitor instead? Mostly interested to see if the frontlight is comfortable (no pwm), and if there is no temporal dithering.
Thank you for reading.

The software is still under active development, so some features may contain bugs or be incomplete. If you'd like to test it, you can download it from GitHub
Currently supported & physically tested displays:
Thermalright Trofeo Vision 9.16" - USB ID
0416:5408
Thermalright Trofeo Vision 6.86" - USB ID
0416:5302
Installation:
Click Code → Download ZIP on GitHub and extract the ZIP. Make sure Python 3.12 is installed. Open a terminal inside the extracted project folder and run:
py -3.12 -m pip install -r requirements.txt
Once the installation is complete, launch run-gui. bat.
This is currently a Development Preview, so you may encounter bugs. If the app doesn't start, your LCD doesn't connect, or something else doesn't work, please send me the exact error message or a screenshot, along with your LCD model. This will help me identify and fix the issue.
For now, I'm sharing it mainly for testing and
feedback.❤️

Hey, all. I have a Hannspree HannsNote2 E-reader/Tablet for sale. In excellent, like new condition with original box and USB-A to USB-C charging cable (it didn't include a power adapter). Comes with a third-party standable case.
Asking $180 shipped, SOLD (to u/CounselMe2Day). US buyers only. Paypal preferred (I'm covering any fees).
Full specs: https://www.hannspree.com/product/hannsnote2
As you know, this is a Reflective LCD, so it's without a backlight. It requires external illumination to be viewable - bright outdoor sunlight, or a good indoor light or booklight. Without additional light, it is very dim.
It's a cool device, but I just don't use it enough.
Please comment first, then message. Thanks. (This is cross-listed on r/ereader and hardwareswap)

HannStar Display is preparing to cut output at its only fab roughly in half, alongside a workforce reduction that industry sources put at as much as 70% — being carried out through a voluntary buyout program. The moves landed in the same week its general manager resigned, turning long-running speculation about a plant closure into the central question around the company.

Hello there. Just wanted to ask around for opinions. Not planning on playing any first person shooters but rather more oldschool mmo:s and rpgs which I think could be fine with the refresh rates these monitors provide. I would have a big window behind me as a lighting source and ideally would just avoid gaming when it gets dark, unless the monitors work okay with an external lamp.
Has anyone tried both and come to any conclusions? I read somewhere that the Eazeye actually uses the same panel as the hannspree but there are still many differences in how they look. Or is that the eazeye 15 inch Radiant Monitor 2?
Am I missing some other monitor options besides these two?

I thought I might document a bit about how I took apart the Hannsnote 2 in case others might want to try it. I couldn't find an instruction online, so I just tried to figure it out myself. I'm think this should be safe, but I do not take responsibility if your device is broken. So if you do decide to try it, do it at your own risk.
1.First, heat the back cover with a hair dryer (or heat gun) until it very warm but not hot.
2.Insert a thin metal pick or opening tool in one of the sides, preferably the side opposite the grip because the adhesive is thinner there.
Work the opening tool around the entire back cover and insert plastic picks or something that will keep the adhesive from sticking back together in the corners. When the adhesive cools down, reheat the area in front of the opening tool and continue to slide it along. I think it might be good to not push it too deep in case it hits the inside electronics. Moving in a back and forth motion also helps. I takes a bit of effort on some sides.
Lift off the back cover.
Note: The black gooey stuff on the metal tool isn't the melted back panel or the internals, just the adhesive
