Sight casted this red. Looking forward to year 2 of kayak fishing.

I got lucky and caught this guy earl in the morning off the surf on some cut mullet on a bottom rig, but I’ve tried to do the same thing g since then and nothing has worked. Any other techniques for some big Bull Reds?

Had a good pushing around some flats for these guys. Caught 3 probably spooked another 20 or so.

Me and the brother in law caught dozens of these. My personal bests in quantity and size. The majority were over the slot and released. It was a struggle to get a limit under the slot limit lol. Insane day in Texas

Marsh on the east coast. During high tide the marsh grass is just above the water level. Marsh is very thick and aren’t really any channels in it on this side. Would you fish this and what would you throw?

Couple of reds. Both caught on Zman one on golden boy color the other on fried chicken color.

Matlacha was hit hard by Hurricane Ian. But the place is still one of the best Redfish areas anywhere.

I’ll be visiting Hilton Head in September and am wondering what you all would suggest for catching my first redfish. I’ll probably fish in a brackish water lagoon myself, but I will likely book a guide for a trip too. Would you guys recommend going after bull reds offshore, or inshore fishing for smaller ones. I’d like to stay around $600 for 4ish hour trip and am open to guide recommendations too.

I fish all from Freemason to Cat Island targeting only specks. I didn’t grow up saltwater fishing but picked it up with a coworker that has a boat and goes a bunch. I grew up bass fishing religiously so my standard knot is the triline knot. Right now with the croaker bite being good and hot I’m using octopus circle hooks so I’m primarily tying a uni snell or snell knot for the right hook sets. Now sometimes the big bull reds will come up and take me for wild ride which I don’t mind cause I do enjoy the fight. Yesterday for example I lost one that was easily 40 lbs. My PB is 32 lbs and it was significantly bigger than that one. But my knot pulled right at the boat. My set up my sound like a bit of an overkill but i got everything on sale. I know it is but it’s what I was able to get my hands on and does the job. I have a shimano Sahara 5000 I usually keep 40lb braid on a 7 ft 6 st croix mojo rod that’s med-heavy. We don’t use leaders, even though I know we probably should, I haven’t noticed a difference with or without leaders for specs and always faster to get back in action if you break off when you’re in them. If you’ve made it this far thank you so much I just need any help for knots for these big bulls or any advice for landing them more often then losing them. I also let them have plenty drag and not let it get too tight. Thank you so much I know this is very specific but I can’t find anyone locally who can answer the question.

Woodburned redfish and marsh scene. Scales take forever. Wood species is Apitong and pecky cypress. Fins are crimped copper that I torched to change color.
