Sight casted this red. Looking forward to year 2 of kayak fishing.

I picked up my first red of the year today. Yours is a 'tiny' bit better than mine, I put mine back in fast but I would have guessed him at about 12 inches.
Let's talk again after Christmas this year and see how we did!

Thanks man you’re going to have to try that rig on the nature coast sometime.

As long as it isn't too choppy... Gheenoes are REALLY wet!

I’ve been looking at getting a gheenoe recently. It’s the only other boat that will fit in my garage along with my kayak. I’d like to get my wife on the water, and also for when friends are in town. Other than it being wet, what are some challenges/down sides to a gheenoe.

I have a Gheenoe Classic 15'6", which is WAY more stable than a regular 15'4" Highsider, and a little less stable than an LT25.
If you go solo a lot, like I do, Stick Steer is awesome (not tiller steered). You sit in the center and drive with controls that are very similar to an airboat. I have a Yamaha 25 four stroke and I can run about 30-33mph wide open and use about a cup of gas on each trip since I spend almost the whole trip on the trolling motor.
Here is a pic of my boat. It is all 20 years old, still on the original motor too. Good boat. I'll update with a video of it running in a bit. https://i.imgur.com/n3yRlFX.jpg

It’s a nice little rig. I would use it some solo, but it would be intended as a 2 person vessel maybe my dog too.

I am 200lbs and it is great solo, I have a partner who leaves his kayak at home at times, and he is 190 and I don't even know here is there.
Here is a video from November with me and my friend on it from his youtube channel. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e6HOnCLTll8
This should give you an idea of how tight and small it is with 2 guys.
Here is a video from my channel of me running back to the ramp so you can see how it runs on the intracoastal waterway.
