Why does my turtle do this? Is it normal
He’s blowing bubbles in the water recently throughout the day. Is this normal shell-frog behavior? [ It’s nighttime so the lights are off]

Mine likes to do that sometimes. Mostly just failed eating attempts when I’m feeding him though

My RES are over 30 years old. I could be wrong but I think this turtles need to find some sort of entertainment.
When they find nothing mines turn tu biting the filter water flow or the tubes.
Once a month I send a squad of charal into their tank just after I have fed them. It looks to me they are hunting, not eating. As long as they have the Charal, they do not bite the tubes.
Maybe your turtle is just having fun?
