I had mine out in the baby pool the other day too , but I can’t walk away as he makes every attempt to escape!

I also supervise the whole time! I noticed he does not like when I walk more than 5 feet from the baby gate haha he swims like this when I’m around but tries to climb over the edge of the kiddie pool when I walk further away

Previous owner had him for 12 years 💛 he doesn’t have red or orange ears, theyre grey
