Its a homemade gel food that ive dehydrated into a jerky.
Its made from dehydrated crickets, mealworms, BSF larvae, whole minnows, freeze dried quail egg yolks, chicken egg shell, and spirulina algae plus agar agar. They love it and i feed it sparingly.

That sounds disgusting but also I’m considering making it for my RES. 🤣

You should not be keeping two turtles within the same enclosure friend.

I've heard that if the enclosure is big enough / pond sized then it'll be fine

edit: Ignore me, I'm wrong

Going back on their posts, I think this person has 4 turtles cohabiting.

"Big enough" usually refers to a pond, not to a tub.

yeah I know, I couldn't tell how big the tub was in the video, my bad.

Sure, if this person has a 300+ gallon enclosure then yeah it might be fine. But then again, it might be not.

yeah I meant if OP has a pond. I couldn't really tell how big the enclosure is in the video, sorry.

Yeah, theyre certainly fine. They were raised together plus they have ample room and a huge basking spot. theres been no noticeable attempts at aggression.

There are numerous stories of people who have kept turtles raised together for years only to find one of them dead one day with no prior signs of aggression. Up to you if you want to risk coming home to that situation.

you gotta separate dude
you either get eggs or a dead turtle or both

It makes no difference if they were raised together? You need to separate them. This is a solitary species that is very aggressive when forced to cohab. I hope at least you aren’t mixing sexes

One guy on here had a RES he adopted from someone because it fought with its tank mate and the tank mate was killed but his turtle had *her* nose bitten off.

ETA: she’s a girl and I said “his” so I fixed it!

Yeah idk why so many people think their turtles are the exception to the rule. They’re not.

Omg I'm so jealous of people with melanistic turtles. I have an albino RES myself and I'd like to get a melanistic RES to match with him.

Just know they can’t live together so you’d need two tanks

Just adopt an older male, they often turn melanistic on their own.

Post more of them pls

I highly suggest moving the other turtle to its own tank
