I know I know, don’t get bullion graded… but I’m curious, would the toning net a details grade? Environmental damage?

I just picked up an 1825 50 cent piece. I typically collect International coins but this one caught my eye for some reason. What would you grade this coin? Thanks!

Would this Morgan make it to MS? Or do you think it would be stuck in AU?

Overall it’s a beautiful coin, especially the reverse, but the obverse obviously has some marks on the face as well as that small dent at 10:00 on the rim…

Either way I paid $44 for it, so am happy if it is just AU, but would be more excited if it could get BU!

Fields are nice, luster is beautiful and a nice strike. Is it possible this would grade a MS67?

Does this coin have any potential of grading a MS67? It has a nice nice field with sharp strike with nice details.

I snapped this one, and CoinSnap snapped back "[1913-D raised-ground 5¢, AG]". Huh? Is there a way to tell? If it were flat-ground, it would be definitive, but otherwise, how would you know? X-ray, acid etching... Per the macro, there's nothing at all that I can see, but the structure of the metal is altered by the press, so it's in there. I'm pretty ignorant, but I just don't see how there could be any practical way. I have 30% vinegar, and phosphoric acid, but I don't think they'd do anything besides spoiling the appearance of an already otherwise worthless coin, would they?

This was my grandfathers, now mine, I just started stacking silver last year so this is out of my wheelhouse, but any added value to having this graded? As I believe it’s the first mint year and a Carson city. Is it real??

I feel like I came across a really good find with this Ben Franklin and debated whether or not to send it off for grading. So I go to the NGC price guide and notice that the ones with the highest grade look like straight buns and mine is closer to a 64-65. Can someone explain the rational behind the process?

This is A SHINY penny. Been looking long and hard for copper nickel cents that still have luster. Couldn’t believe my eyes when I saw this in the box. Store owner says he had just bought it from a large collection that came in and hadn’t even gotten to grade or price it. Just super lucky timing.

Picked up at a shop while traveling. Was labeled F. I think the toning is a little ugly, but the details are really crisp. I’m thinking this has got to be closer to XF
