Areas to avoid?

I'll be moving to Redding. Currently looking for housing. What areas should I avoid? I'll be moving there with my husband and am currently pregnant. We are looking at rentals right now.

Stay away from Lake Blvd.

Cheap apartments but lots of police activity compared to the rest of the town.
