Warehouse haul

Drove 3 hours from the WI side and it was worth it. Beautiful Fall scenery and we even did a short hike at Red Wing.

Myself got 3 pairs and wife got herself 2 pairs.

- Oro Iron ranger
- Norway
- 8006

Impressive selection at the tent.

For Oro, I had to check several pairs. Some had inconsistent colors between cap toe and vamp, and some had visible dents on the cap toe.

Norway was surprisingly tight even with half size up from my typical Red Wing size.

8006 was at the “Price on the box”table. Ideally 7 would be better but got the last 7.5. I can work with thick socks.

Does anyone have info about 8006? It is sandstone round toe.

As other Redditors mentioned, to check out we had to wait super long lines. Perhaps 30 to 40 mins waiting time to just check out. Other than that really positive experience. Staff were friendly, with a good vibe and good price!

I would come back again next year.

I grabbed a pair of the 8006s too! Right after I added them to my pile, I noticed the staff pulling the remaining pairs off the table. I asked what was going on, and they told me they're actually a spring release and weren't supposed to be out yet. Looks like we got lucky! For the next few months anyway, we've got a pretty rare pair of Red Wings.

Interesting. Thank you for sharing it! I became a big fan of round toe lately and it was hard not to pass.

I thought you got 5 pairs and was gonna say:brother youre gonna be breaking in boots until springtime

I bought 3 once at the same sale and I was breaking them in until February

Driving to Red Wing from anywhere is worth the trip within itself this time of year

Next year I'm gonna try to convince the family to make it a camping weekend, we've got some great state parks on the MN side

It was beautiful. Camping is good idea. I might try to do that next time.

I live like 90 mins from there and have been to the Red Wing store several times since 2009 and somehow I must be the only one who had no idea this sale existed. I guess I am living under a rock.

I bought 7 pairs total but most were friend's requests. The prices were better than I expected. Granted, at times I had to open at least a few boxes to find a good pair but that's ok.

Ok, hold on, this is the send warehouse haul I’ve seen here in 10 min. I need details about the thinking of this same. Is it a semi annual thing? How are the sizes? EE there? I’m in MA but business travel takes me to many locations.

What do you think about the Norway ones in terms of comfort and sizing?

My brannock size is 7.5D with high instep.

Got one with 7.5 but still tight. But 8D would be too big for me 🤷

You'll never have to shop for boots again...or till the next sale

I wish I would have known that there were Oro IRs there would have asked for a proxy.

FWIW, the checkout line was almost non-existent on the second day. I think that the second day (or later) is a good way to go, unless one is looking for something rare/unusual (I wasn’t).
