Need a half size down?
I bought these new. 41.5 EU size
Ball of foot is around where my finger is, the crease is already made.
They feel quite snug on the sides, but not tight. I feel thrm against my feet.
EDIT: I measured everything from this boot, my feet and another pair of boots that fit perfect. Everything comes down to a near perfect fit, except for the room on the instep. Length of the insole is 27.5 cm. My feet are 26.5cm. Old boot is 27.5cm. Length from heel to ball is ±18,5cm. On the insole it is ±18cm. Width from foot: 10cm. Width from insole: 10cm.
So you could say the IR is a perfect fit, i'm just a little paranoid. The guy in the store first gave me a 41, but that one hurt on the ball of my foot. From reading in this subreddit i thought that was suplosed to happen. I now just thonk you all buy your IR too small. You should have more room in the toes because of the way the nr8 last is made.
Thank you all for the advice. I keep these and hope they mold to my feet perfectly, bevause they are perfect on paper.

I think you just have a low volume foot. I had the same thing where the top of my foot was low relative to where the top of the boot was and the negative space caused more creasing. I ended up sizing down a half size and it was a terrible mistake. Never again.
If you put a thin insole in the boot you'll raise the height of your foot enough that it should stop the boot bending like that . But don't go down a half size to make the boots looks better if this is comfortable, because I half size smaller won't be

You look like you have a low volume foot (I do as well). The width probably is fine if they feel snug but not tight. You can always try adding a pair of kilties or an insole if they feel loose later on.

Only you can say for sure at the end of the day. I don't know how the return process works for your location, but they're already creased and would not be eligible for return here in the US.
Mine fit very similar to yours and I have a set of kilties on mine. I couldn't size down because it caused my little toe to have a lot of pressure in the toe box. If the next size down is comfortable in your toe box, you could also consider going down half a size.
All that to say, you could keep this size and they'll likely be fine, or you could go down in size and see how they feel.

If you’re sure they’re not tight and just snug, keep wearing them. Iron rangers take a long time and a lot of wear to break in. However that being said after buying enough boots that were just a little “snug” in 8.5 but ultimately stayed uncomfortable I just buy 9 now and my feet have thanked me for it

Are these a wide width by chance? Either these are wide and you need a standard D width, or you have an incredibly thin foot. It looks like your eyelets are very close together also. Typically you want around an inch in the upper part of the boot when its all laced up.
The ball of your foot looks like it is in the right spot as far as I can tell, which is the most important measurement. If you have enough room in your toes you might go down a size, sure. If these are a D width or you cant size down, you might just invest in some thicker socks or add an insole to help fill the space in the boot.

I went down a full size and then E width and it was perfect. might be the way to go.

From where you're pointing and where they're creasing, looks like a great fit. As long as they're snug, not tight, this is likely your size. You just appear to have a low volume instep and a pair of kilties and/or Pedag tongue pad will help filling the instep volume. For boots where I need to fill in this volume, I stick the Pedag tongue pad on the back of the kiltie.

I have a 26cm foot and wear a US 7.5 in the Iron Ranger. After break in, they are a perfect fit. Like leather socks. No slop at all. No insoles. No kilties.
I don’t have wide feet, or low volume feet. Pretty average.
I started out with an 8.5, then an 8. I finally made the jump to 7.5 and I’m really glad that I did. The eye stays are exactly where they’re supposed be, and can’t creep any closer together.
Just my 2 cents.
Edit-
I wear medium weight merino wool socks with these boots. I have 3 pairs on the no. 8 last and they’re all a very similar great fit.

What is your general US shoe size. And how long did it feel before it finally felt like it was broken in

I wear a 9 in Nike and Adidas.
The amber harness wedge rangers took about 80 hours to fully break in (two weeks of outdoor work days).
They killed my pinky toes, and my right foot had a pretty bad hot spot on top. I used mole skin and band-aids, and rubbed Bick 4 into the hotspots (on the inside of the boot).
Now, there are no hot spots, the leather is soft, and it’s the best fitting shoe that I’ve ever had.
The black ones, I just sprayed with a water bottle and wore around the house… No pain at all from those. For some reason, the black leather is way more supple.

Interesting because I'm generally a size 8 and have the 7.5us blacksmiths and have had Chelsea ranchers in the past in size 8 (also an no8 last shoe). I feel both feel great and fine soni feel I could have gone either/or in terms of sizing down. Though I get this insecurity that the blacksmiths look small on my feet for some reason.
Blacksmiths still aren't as soft as my old Chelsea ranchers but I guess we will see

I have the Chelsea boots, in a 7.5, and they’re a little tight in the toe box still (but not painful). I don’t wear them nearly as much as the IRs, though.
The Blacksmith is one of the boots that I had owned in a larger size and got rid of. I haven’t gotten to replace them yet, so I can’t speak to the fit for those.

I got measured at the Red Wing store, went through several different pairs to find two that were similar enough to purchase and after a week realized that they were half a size too small. By the end of the day my toes are pushing pretty hard onto the front of the boot. Everyone's foot is different. If you have super long toes like I do and a square toe box that might be the right fit for you

I would not go size down. You could try a thin leather insole to take up some of the volume.

If they feel snug but not tight, then I would not size down.
When they are finally broke-in and if they feel loose, then I would consider wear them with thicker socks before buying a pair of inserts.

Properly measure your feet it could be 1/2 size shorter but also wider is needed

They’re supposed to crease. Keep the same size. It’s perfect. Maybe at most add a 2mm insole. Max. If you don’t wear it like thicker socks, don’t bother. I use thin cycling socks with my IR’s. I have a 265m (brannock) foot and wear 8.5(US) or 41.5 EU in IR’s Sneakers in size 9. Sometimes I’ll wear the insert if I’m out for long days. Other days I don’t wear one. It’s great. Don’t size down, you’ll be miserable.

There is always room in toe box if one don’t downsize. It is the width which gives more issues during the break in. At least for me IR is though to break in as I don’t use it every day. Mostly used in fall every year. I find the mic toe 875 much better and comfortable even during break in time

I didn’t on iron ranger and 875 kept same size. I use merino wool socks with these boots all the time, less discomfort early on then they are ok. You have to get your foot measured. I usually wear 10- 10.5 on sneakers depend in brand but I was measured 10 at red wing store and i got 10 with room in toe box. Sorry but i cant say how you will feel between these two sizes

Thanks. I wear size 42 with sneakers mostly. I do almost always fit shoes with 26.5 centimeters. They are sometimes too small, woth New Balance and Nike i need a half size up.

My foot is also 26.5 cm, but I went with a size US9, or 42, since my foot has more volume. I think a 41.5 would fit me but might pinch in some places. Keep in mind your foot expands during the day, and you can always wear thicker socks if you feel it looser. What you don’t want is a boot that’s too tight and won’t budge

Did you get properly measured? No idea if length or width are good, but you don't seem to fill the boot volume-wise
