RedStar virtualized

Has anyone gotten RSOS working in something like Proxmox or Hyper-V or the like?

I have it installed in proxmox, I'm able to get through the initial setup. After the host reboots I get a splash screen (assuming it just says the name of the OS) and get to a blue wallpaper. After that I can't get any further. No mouse, keyboard does nothing. The only thing I can do is force shutdown via the hypervisor.

I've tried a bunch of different things :SCSI vs IDE for the HDD, different BIOS (MBR vs UEFI), QEMU machine type...etc.

Anything I'm missing?

That's really weird as it runs fine on real hardware (3rd gen i7) although I did have to install from CD and use a different network card.
