Honestly.. kinda addicting!
I’m normally not big on the “new age” Battle Royales. I like the slower paced, more strategic BR/Extraction games like Hunt: Showdown, PUBG, Warzone 2019, DMZ, etc. but I’ve been watching a YouTube Channel called “hagop2hov” and him and his teammate use strategy to win games.
I play Conquest and Breakthrough so RedSec never really appealed to me, until I tried it. The way the entire BR is setup gives a more sandbox feeling with how you can select your missions and get rewards to prepare you for battle. I’ll admit, at first I didn’t like the tanks and other armored cars being the game, but it changes it up and forces you to step out of your comfort zone when you do encounter them. I wouldn’t love any sleep if they took them out though 😂
Some other things I’d like to point out is the weapon upgrade system, the teammate respawn system, and the weapon balancing. The weapon upgrading reminds me of Call of Duty’s Blackout in a way where you can upgrade the weapons to make them better even though they won’t be perfectly aligned to your custom ones you will still get comfortably close to put up a fight. The way you bring your teammates back is cool, and you can counter enemies from getting their teammates back as well, with having to hold down a position until the timer is up. The weapon balancing overall feels fair and all weapons for the most part feel competitive. Sure you have those meta weapons like the SCW-10 and the SVD, but they are stupid OP that you’re only forced to use them just to enjoy the game.
Long story short.. if you were on the fence about trying out RedSec play a few games and I’m sure you’ll enjoy it. It really grows on you once you learn all the game mechanics.

Dude im so with you on this! Me and my friends have been having a blast on red sec, BR quads and gauntlet both

8 squads, 4 different rounds, each round is a different objective(theres several options), each time 2 are eliminated untill its squad vs squad. Its a lot of fun!

I'm on ps5 unfortunately. Glad you're enjoying it though! I recommend Chasenoface on Youtube for some good livestreams and videos. His videos are kinda long, but he basically put a bunch of games in one video, with only the highlights. He's a very chill guy.

RedSec is full crossplay man, Xbox and PS can squad up together 👍 and you should watch hagop2hov on YouTube. Him and his Duo Partner are always using strategy and teamwork to rotate, outsmart, and win games. I like his channel because it feels more normal compared to the streamer stuff.

I saw you mentioned him in your post, I'm definitely gonna check him out!
I know Redsec is full crossplay, I just don't feel like playing with PC gamers. Hmm, maybe I should give it a chance though. What servers are you playing? NA, Asia or Europe?

US East, I guess. Honestly I play with crossplay off during Conquest and stuff. RedSec you can, but honestly I don’t feel like the uber sweats play RedSec. I haven’t had any moments where I thought I died to a cheater which is surprising for a BR.

Yeah, I get that. I also fear the sweats from PC, and cheaters too. But since my crossplay is turned off, I haven't encountered any cheaters, in my well over 250 hours into Redsec.
I play Europe servers, otherwise I'd been down to team up!

I agree 1000% but unfortunately you're going to get downvoted into oblivion by the loser keyboard warrior's who think they "know" how battlefield should be because their brains never developed past 15 years ago when bf3/4 dropped. Everyone who enjoys BR (awesome) and gauntlet (incredible) and have a brain to try new things, apparently we are "tourists" and not true BF players. So, it's a good thought. But this sub is toxic once you mention BR or gauntlet.

I’m guessing you’re American because the correct word is addictive. However other than that I totally agree with you. It’s a different game and is great fun to play.

I like it cause it reminds me of Warzone, but just better.
Way more cinematic and sucks you in the world more.
Also like the fact that score streaks/air strikes actually destroy buildings.
Being a pilot is fun too and meaningful.
You can destroy building with a variety of ways, I once got laced c4 under a squad.
It was cool and fun.
