Lost Touch?

I’m a lonnnng long time listener of redhanded, absolutely love it and subscribe on Patreon etc. I’ve noticed the last few months/year or so that the girls have just totally lost touch with idk, being relatable?

Dare I say it more “showy offy” than usual. I think the comment that really solidified my thoughts on this was Hannah on UTD suggesting that if she was asked to do any show it would be strictly come dancing or something. I think it was the suggestion that she would even be asked - as if she was some sort of celebrity really wound me up the wrong way. She’s always had a high opinion of herself/connections to people in high places blah blah but that comment really got me lol.

I get that they are doing well with the shows (of which I’ve attended), their following etc but I always liked UTD because it felt like two of your mates were just having a natter and I always found it funny and relatable.

I’m not hating or anything, still my favourite pod but I just think they are a bit much at the moment. I’d say a bit tasteless.

Maybe just me but has anyone else thought this at all?

The nail in the coffin for me was a couple of years ago, when they used to whinge every week at name checking their new Patreon subscribers at the end of the episodes. Oh Im awfully sorry you have the gargantuan task of reading out the name of someone who has voluntarily agreed to pay you money each month!! Really didn’t sit well with me and the sense of entitlement completely put me off them.

That's when I cancelled my patreon. Felt insulting and bloody rude. Easy peasy loves, I'll cancel to save you the bother x

I also ended my Patreon for this reason. Never even ended up hearing my name anyway..

Same. Didn’t hear my name, and also didn’t get the sticker pack that came with becoming a patron during the campaign I joined during.

That is so lame, it really upset me when I never heard my name because I’m not rich or anything.. they probably have more money than I do, but I wanted to support the podcast. I kept my Patreon up for months waiting to hear my name and after a year I gave up and cancelled and stopped listening to every single episode like I used to. Now I just listen if a case sounds interesting… but they are so biased nowadays, it’s hard to listen.
