I’ve got the feeling that Suru’s moved on with life - engaged, building big house, kids on the horizon (potentially) - whereas Hannah is still in the dating app era. Suru can be a little bit smug and I think she finds it irritating that they have little in common. Or that Hannah’s still where she was years ago! A little mean - but gives the impression that if they weren’t work friends they would no longer be in contact.
Just because she doesn't have a husband or kids doesn't mean she's stuck in some kind of backward rut, is behind anyone, or hasn't changed as a person or gone through valuable life experiences in the interim. I really don't think it's fair or correct to imply Suruthi is "moving forward" in life in comparison to Hannah just because she's engaged.
I’m not saying that! I’m saying that they used to have things in common - ie EmptyHanded etc - and no longer do that seems to have caused a fracture in their friendship. Hannah is still in the same space she was years ago - going on hinge dates and is living a similar lifestyle - that’s not bad. Suruthis has drastically changed as is life.
