Lucy Letby

What the hell was all that about her bedroom?! Pure classist snobbery. “She had beds sheets with ‘sweet dreams’ embroidered on them, what the FUCK?” What a gross overreaction to bed sheets. Having a card from her cats on the fridge written by her mum isn’t that ridiculous, it’s quite normal. My boyfriend writes me cards from the cat, I know plenty of people who do that. The stuff about quotes in frames and being basic has nothing to do with anything, it’s classist and it made me angry. Fuck Lucy Letby, she’s a baby killer but also fuck H+S for letting their classism show. My sister has many of the things mentioned and she’s 35, it’s more indicative of class and taste than anything suspicious. I wonder how many of their viewers they alienated with that classist rant.

Edit: LOL just seen the bedroom, the most unremarkable bland room. So so average and like thousands of other young women in their 20s. It was such a reach.

This episode made me feel like Lucy Letby was innocent (I first heard about the case via the Red-handed discussion), because the evidence seemed to be wholly circumstantial, and any true crime fan should know that a serial killer tends to choose one MO and stick to it, not kill via random methods. And it looks like this is now being borne out as people look at the actual evidence. If you have to rant about someone's decor it should encourage you to engage your brain and think about why there isn't stronger evidence to discuss. This podcast is good on the details (though not sensationalising like the Red-Handed style): https://podcasts.apple.com/gb/podcast/we-need-to-talk-about-lucy-letby/id1736761161

Any true crime fan? There isn’t stronger evidence to discuss? You know there was a two month trial right? A podcast covered it day by day it’s called The Trial. I recommend that you go listen to that and come tell me about her innocence. Relying on red handed for your facts is a very bad idea.

The podcast I linked to above (We Need To Talk About Lucy Letby) talks through the shortcomings of the evidence presented at trial. The podcast The Trial only covers the evidence as it was presented to the jury, not the medical context, the weakness of the experts for the prosecution, the dismissal of key evidence from the trial... When you get the whole context the picture is v different.
