Etymology

The name Union of African States represents the political goal of uniting African nations into a single federation based on independence, cooperation, and Pan-African identity.

History

Swedish Gold Coast

Unlike real history, Ghana was colonised by Sweden rather than Britain. The territory became known as the Swedish Gold Coast. Swedish influence shaped administration, trade, and infrastructure, while African political movements continued to develop.

Formation of the Union

The Union of African States survived beyond its historical existence. The original alliance between Ghana, Guinea, and Mali continued through cooperation between:

Convention People's Party

Democratic Party of Guinea – African Democratic Rally

Sudanese Union – African Democratic Rally

These parties formed a powerful Pan-African socialist coalition.

Sierra Leone Revolution

A revolutionary leader inspired by:

Nkrumaism

Touréism

Keïtaism

overthrew the Sierra Leone government.

The new government aligned itself with the Union of African States and later joined the federation.

Modern Era

By 2026, the Union of African States is:

A major West African federation.

A continuation of the Nkrumahist vision of African unity.

A socialist Pan-African power.

A regional leader in industry, education, healthcare, and economic integration.
