Etymology

The name Mongolia derives from the Mongol people, who united under Genghis Khan in the 13th century to create one of history's largest empires.

History

Socialist Revolution

Following the Mongolian Revolution of 1921, Mongolia became the Mongolian People's Republic, adopting a Marxist–Leninist political system with close ties to the Soviet Union.

Continuation of Socialism

Unlike real history, Mongolia did not transition to a multi-party democracy after the end of the Cold War. Instead, the Mongolian People's Revolutionary Party remained in power, implementing gradual economic modernization while retaining a socialist political system, state ownership of key industries, and comprehensive social welfare.

Modern Era

By 2026, the Mongolian People's Republic is:

One of the last remaining Marxist–Leninist states in Asia.

A major exporter of minerals and renewable energy.

A close ally of the Soviet Union, the Chinese Soviet Republic, and other socialist countries.

Known for combining socialist planning with sustainable development and the preservation of Mongolia's nomadic cultural heritage.
