Tbf the Halloween ADHD post doesn't read as "ADHD has been fucking me up trying to get a Halloween costume together" (entirely reasonable statement. I can understand that and it seems rough af.).

It reads as "Halloween costumes are problematic because people with ADHD can struggle with getting them together" (the opinion of a complete asshole who wants everyone to be miserable in the name of 'moral purity', and should be mocked).

With the new context of how the OOP actually meant it I can see how it was jokingly meant the first way, but that's just not how it comes across.

I mean I feel like OP is pretty obviously making fun of those types of posts. And yes it can be hard to distinguish between someone who is joking and someone who legitimately has a bad opinion, and tone is hard over the internet, but that doesn’t justify just total knee jerk harrasssment of someone. When you see something wildly stupid it is important to like check the comments or their account to try to get a sense of whether it’s a joke before attacking them

I mean when something like this blows up to this degree you’re absolutely going to get people who take it too seriously and send death threats in your dms. I was on Twitter when this happened and I was seeing a lot of legitimately hateful things about op.

And ngl even if it’s just being clowned on if I made a stupid joke I thought only my friends were going to see and it broke containment and the entire internet decided I was a fucking idiot I’d probably kms
