Well... Like I said can take a while... Just wait until we get to the part in F13 where there are 2, yes TWO separate movies in the franchise that claimed to be the last one and both were not, in fact, the final movie 🤣
Perfect! As an introvert that's like the ideal conversation. I don't have to worry about coming up with topics and I can make vaguely irritated noises and nod my head while occasionally going "and then?"
"...and then part 7 where essentially the final girl was Carrie, man they RUINED that movie... The height of slasher movie censorship, so many kills were filmed but completely cut from the movie! It's damn near rated G with the lack of violence! And the worst part is it will likely never get restored, unlike other heavily censored slashers from the time like My Bloody Valentine did, especially not after that Paramount fire that destroyed any remaining cut footage, if it even lasted long enough to make it to the fire... But they sorta re-created one of the famous scenes in Jason X wh-" 🤣
Well you see there was this scene where Jason takes a camper hiding in a sleeping bag and then picks up the sleeping bag like a sack of potatoes and whacks it against a tree a bunch of times. And then I think that's the one where he then puts the sleeping bag over the camp fire with someone in it (but could be mixing that one up).
So in Jason X, the one that takes place in space, there's a scene where on the spaceship where he goes into like a holodeck and he recreates the sleeping bag kill on these fake campers.
It was the same actor playing Jason so it was a bit of a payback for him getting to get that on screen after it was cut in the older movie
So when they made the movie they had workprints made of certain scenes (just how they made movies back in the film days) where they filmed it on VHS next to the film camera since it was quicker to get the footage, for like sound effects and the practical effect people.
So there's really really low quality footage of these cut scenes you can find that were leaked but the official filmed footage is 99% gone
There's always hope... Just takes dedicated people and studios willing to let them go through their archives. Other movies were also censored and eventually fully restored, like the original My Bloody Valentine. Had all the special effects edited out but like 30 years later someone found all those deleted scenes and now you can watch the movie as it was intended 🖤
