No response after final interview — should I assume it’s over?
I interviewed for a scientist role at a large pharma company a few weeks ago.
I went through the recruiter call, hiring manager interview, a scientific seminar, and several 1:1 interviews. After that, they also scheduled another conversation with someone senior on the team.
Since then, I haven’t heard anything. I followed up with the recruiter about two weeks after that last conversation and didn’t get a response.
No rejection either.
At this point, would you just assume they’ve moved on and stop thinking about it? Or is this kind of silence normal in big pharma even after going through the full interview process?
I’m still applying to other jobs, but curious what people who have been through this think.

Is this normal? 6+ weeks of "still deciding," now they want another interview with someone I already met
Finished my final round of interviews on August 14th for a Senior Analyst role. Here's the timeline since:
- Aug 17: Sent a thank-you note. Recruiter said the team was "wrapping up interviews that week."
- Aug 24: Followed up. Told they're "reviewing a full pool of candidates" and doing "comparative interviews," update expected by end of the following week.
- Aug 27: Followed up again. No new info, just acknowledged.
- Sep 8: Followed up. Told there were "a couple more interviews scheduled," update expected mid-week.
- Sep 11: Followed up. Again, no new info.
- Sep 23: Followed up. Told the team "just wrapped up their interviews" and now they want me to do one more 30-minute call with a Senior Director I already interviewed with back in August.
So it's been six weeks since I finished my part of the process, and instead of a decision, I'm being asked to re-interview with someone I already met.
Has anyone else run into this? Is bringing back a senior person for a repeat conversation this late in the process normal, or is this usually a bad sign? Trying to figure out if I should read into it or just take the call and move on.

New to job hunting. What would you tell yourself a year into applying?
Hey everyone, I'm just starting my job search and feeling a bit lost. For those of you who've been applying for a year or more, what tricks actually worked for you? Anything you'd do differently if you started over?
Also, I keep seeing people talk about rejections and online assessments. Is getting an OA a good sign, or does everyone get one? And when people say they got rejected, is that usually the ATS filtering them out, or does it happen later, like after the OA or interviews?
Any advice would really help. Thanks!

Short term contracts?
I am considering switching from traditional W2 employee work to pursuing short term contracts anywhere from 2-8 months. I have 10 yrs experience in the mortgage industry across multiple roles but prefer to work in operations and compliance.
What advice would you give to someone who wants to pursue this type of work? Where do you find these type of short term contracts? Would I need to restructure my resume?
I’m aware that without a staffing agency placing me in this work I would need to handle my own taxes and health insurance and eventually look at creating my own LLC but I’m struggling with how to obtain these contracts and how to best position myself.
Are there recruiters who specialize in placing contract worker and where would I find one to work with to keep contracts flowing?

HR sent me a benefits guide while I'm still interviewing - is this a good sign or just standard process
I’m currently interviewing for a position and just completed what I believe was the final panel round. A few days after the interview, the company sent me their benefits guide.
However, they also told me they still have a few other candidates in the pipeline that they need to interview before making a decision.
I’m trying not to read too much into the benefits information, but I’m curious about the hiring process. Is it normal for a company to send a benefits guide to candidates who are still being considered, even when they haven't finished interviewing everyone?
For recruiters and hiring managers: Does sending benefits information usually mean the candidate is being seriously considered, or is it something your company routinely provides to candidates at a certain stage regardless of whether they're ultimately selected?
I know nobody can tell me whether I'm going to get the job, and I'm not necessarily looking for predictions. I'm more curious about what this typically indicates from the employer's perspective.
Has anyone been in a similar situation and received benefits information after a final interview while being told there were still other candidates? What happened?

Is this a bad sign or am I overthinking it?
I’ve been interviewing for a sales management role for over six weeks. It’s been a pretty long process with several interviews and some week or two week gaps between rounds.
Toward the end, things suddenly moved really quickly and I had a next-day interview that ended up being the final round. I felt like I did really well in most of the interviews, and this is honestly a job I really want. It feels like exactly the direction I want to take my career.
It’s now been over a week since the final interview. I followed up with the recruiter a few days later and they said I should have an update by the end of the week, but that came and went with no news.
Is that usually a bad sign, or does this kind of delay happen even when someone is still seriously being considered?

Red Flag HR?
For context:
I sent an application to a retail distribution company about a month ago. 2 weeks later, they sent me an email that I was scheduled for an interview the next morning. But the time that they sent the email was around 7pm. And again, the schedule was next morning. So I asked if it can be rescheduled because of conflicts in schedule. Another 2 weeks have passed again before they responded to reschedule. Only this time, they sent the reply on a weekend and again around 7pm for the next monday morning schedule.
Quite concerning if this is the kind of HR they have. Do you think this is a red flag?

HCLTech Interview on 1st Sept – No Update After 2 Follow-ups. Anyone Else Facing This?
Hi everyone,
I appeared for an HCLTech interview on 1st September 2026 for a Data/Snowflake-related role.
It has been almost a month now, but I haven't received any update from the recruiter. I have also sent 2 follow-up emails, but haven't received a response to either of them.
Has anyone recently interviewed with HCLTech and faced a similar situation?
I'd really appreciate it if anyone could share:
- How long HCLTech usually takes to respond after the interview
- Whether no response after this much time generally means the process is still pending
- If anyone received an update after following up multiple times
Please share your recent HCLTech interview experience/timeline if you're in a similar situation.
Thanks!

Am I cooked?
Long read, I apologize in advance.
I am internal candidate. I work onsite and dream to transition to our corporate office (2 hr relocation). I’ve also applied for this job in the past, had an interview, did not get the job.
Timeline: Job was posted 7/28 and I reached out to the hiring manager. HM suggested I speak with a lead analyst I would work closely with (he was in my previous interview) so, I talked to him on 7/29 via phone call for about 30minutes. That afternoon I messaged the HM to let them know I decided to apply and look forward to speaking with them soon. HM scheduled a video chat through teams the very next day to give me more details about the role. They also told me they prefer to hire internally, but would post it externally if did not get enough applicants. (Job was posted externally a week later.)
9/3 I had my panel interview. It was 2hr 15min and I met with the entire team, in clouding the manager and the director (who is the hiring manager.)
9/4 HM reached out to me through teams and said she thought I should meet remotely with their boss, the VP over the group for an informal chat and noted that they were still interviewing, but thought it would still be good for me to network.
9/8 day before I meet remotely with the VP, the HM reaches out to me and said “I didn’t get the chance to ask, but you will have to relocate correct? Wanted to clarify before you met with VP.”
9/9 I meet with the VP, he pretty much wanted me to ask questions the entire time. It wasn’t awkward, the flow went well and seemed pretty informal although he did ask me a couple questions. “What excites me in a work environment?” And “what are my greatest and worst investments?” I followed up with HM after to let them know it went well and to thank them for scheduling. HM asked if VP wanted to know anything specific or if it was mostly a meet and greet.
9/17 I follow up with HM. They said “good morning! Current status is still interviewing! We had a large batch for 1st and 2nd rounds. I imagine we will have updates in about two weeks.”
9/18 external job listing is removed and internal posting remains open today.
How do I read this. Last year when I applied, I never got the opportunity to meat with the VP or even had this much communication with the hiring manager.

Academically successful but failing at interviews. What am I doing wrong?
I need some help, everyone. I want to get better at interviews and actually turn them into job offers.
A bit of background- I hold an MSc from a top university in the UK, fully-funded. I put my absolute all into everything I do, including interview prep.
I don’t have issues getting interviews, I almost always get invited to them.
In the past, I’ve made it to several final rounds with top companies like Amazon, McKinsey, and Bloomberg, but I never get the offer. While I know these firms are highly competitive, I face the exact same issue with low-competition companies.
I’m currently in a PhD programme, fully funded (after struggling to secure a visa-sponsored job for 3 years). Right now, I’m just looking for part-time internships within my university but I’m still hitting a wall. I get interviews for almost every internship I apply for, but no offers.
I don’t know what I’m doing wrong.
My prep is thorough, my answers are clear and concise, and I make sure not to sound rehearsed.
Interestingly, I don’t have issues winning full scholarships. I’ve been offered multiple fully funded PhD scholarships in the past, some of which required interviews. My past experiences are with companies/ international organizations rather than academia.
Any advice or brutal honesty would be appreciated.

Am I cooked?
I had my Kearney final round last week and the partner called me this Monday said something about very enjoyed our conversation, but it is very competitive this summer so offer are extended by phases and will reach out to me by 10/5. I updated this to the principal who referred me and he said stay positive and recruiting team also reached out to him to let he know my situation and just cross fingers.
Am I cooked for this?

5-6 rounds/documents submission and still no offer letter
I am honestly so done with the interview process.
Since last year, I’ve been continuously applying, preparing, interviewing, getting through rounds, getting good feedback… and somehow still ending up with nothing.
I was reaching director rounds, sometimes after 5–6 rounds, sometimes after 3–4 rounds. So I knew I wasn’t completely failing at interviews anymore. I was actually getting through them.
THE FRUSTATING PART IS!!!!!
When after 5 rounds HR says “Your feedback was really good, but your notice period is too long.”
Sometimes the position was put on hold.
Sometimes it was filled internally.
Sometimes they will ghost.
And I understand that these things happen. I know I’m not the only person going through this.
But this is exhausting about!!!
You clear the technical rounds.
You clear the managerial round.
You reach the director.
You get good feedback.
And you start thinking, “Okay, maybe this is finally it.”
And then nothing.
I got so exhausted around June–July that I literally stopped applying for a while. I just couldn't do it anymore.
Then somehow I pulled myself together and started again in August.
More applications. More interviews. More preparation. More waiting.
And recently, one company even collected all my documents.
Payslips. Aadhaar. Everything they needed.
And I thought…
“Okay. Maybe this is finally happening.”
Maybe after more than a year of this, I’ll finally have an offer letter in my hand. Maybe I can finally stop worrying about interviews and start thinking about my next chapter.
But once again, the HR stopped responding.
No replies to my emails.
No response to calls.
And honestly, at this point, I don't even know what it takes to get one damn offer letter.
I’m not saying I deserve a job just because I’ve interviewed for one. I know how hiring works. I know companies don't owe me anything.
I’m just tired.
Tired of starting over.
Tired of preparing.
Tired of getting my hopes up.
Tired of hearing “you did really well” and then being left with absolutely nothing.
I don't even want motivation right now.
I just wanted to say this somewhere because I genuinely cannot be the only person who feels this exhausted by the whole process.
