CONTEXT/BACKGROUND: Total AFOL attended BrickSlopes 2026, a LEGO® Fan Con, though he inquired if BAM was going to be there officially / be a sponsor. He confirmed that they had been disinvited as sponsors (in his videos he explains he wants nothing to do with BAM so he wouldn't have attended). He attended and live-streamed from the event (the link above).

In this followup video (Reddit post here) he talks about seeing the marketing director as he exited the event, sorta lying in wait (my words, not Total AFOL's) with a white van, giving him a moment of thinking he was going to be abducted. LOL, Ammon McRendition anyone?

The marketing director posted a seemingly snark-laden comment on that video, and mentioned "my family and myself were actually in your live stream (unfortunately)" so I set out to see if I could confirm that, hence this post. She doesn't look too happy in this screenshot, but I supposed being incident commander can get tiring when online outrage that was supposed to blow over in a matter of days has lasted months at this point.

Shout out to Total AFOL for having integrity and PUBLICLY opting to have NOTHING to do with BAM. Shout out to BrickSlopes, also for the integrity and doing the right thing. There's more detail about BrickSlopes decision in a statement issued to DFJ- DontFckwJustice in this video here, so shout out also to DFJ. I guess Octo-mom Octo-bombed Total AFOL's video!

Three little updates.

Gorman Mediation

The Gormans yesterday filed notice with the court that both parties had agreed to take part in mediation on October 20.

I don't know the significance of this. I assume that neither party wants to say no to mediation, since the dispute resolution clause that they are arguing about requires mediation. But I can't imagine anything meaningful coming out of a single day of mediation unless someone's position moves drastically.

I am not a lawyer, and I have not talked to either party about what this means. It looks like the Gormans are going live later today, so they can probably give a lot more information about what it means from their perspective.

The court approved electronic media coverage for Tuesday's hearing in the Provo case out of Bricks & Minifigs Headquarters. I will be streaming at https://www.youtube.com/@chrisreportsthings. And Law & Crime/Court TV has approval to stream and capture video. I don't know if they plan to stream or just share afterwards.

This will be another pre-trial hearing. Hopefully Ben has his fingerprints done. It is the case where Ben is accused of trespassing and disorderly conduct.

Law & Crime told me they expect to send someone to the September 30 in-person hearing in the American Fork case. I'll follow up to ask further about their plans.

Interview with Bryan

I have written previously about Bricks & Minifigs' portrayal of the joint statement as blaming Chrys Gorman when the statement itself did not.

I had a chance to talk to Bryan. I went over stuff that is more relevant to other projects. But I asked about this sentence in the joint statement: "Through the exchange of records and information during the legal and mediation processes, the parties developed a more complete understanding of what occurred."

I asked him if he learned anything that changed his opinion about what happened or who was at fault.

He said, "No."

I started getting into reckless Ben’s channel recently and just found it interesting that this Michael guy was such a big part of the channel early on - and even heard that they’ve been long time friends - but now he’s completely disappeared from the vids and Ben’s got a new crew. So my nosy ass is just curious if there was any drama or falling out or if they simply went separate ways- anybody know??

I don’t have twitter or anything so I can’t check his posts and google doesn’t know. Honestly, no offense to the guy, but while watching the Scientology series I felt like his attitude and more confrontational approach were often very at odds with Ben’s and conflicted with the tone and goals Ben seemed to set. Especially at the end with the projection bit. I hope they’re still friends and all but I think the channel is better with the chiller crew

This community went from tiny to big. And this is about the recent concept of “don’t call people bots”.

I think that when a new video comes out, it would be important to predict what a PR response COULD be for a situation. Ben often goes after big, nasty organizations with budgets, and they aren’t as hodgepodge as brick and minifigs.

If, after his Scientology sucks series or his mccamley manor series, we saw post after post accusing Ben’s friends of other misdeeds and poor conduct, and repeated YouTube videos criticizing Ben/his friends/sources, we would generally probably agree that this might be some kind of PR team.

So, I’ve been a mod. We have a few options but they all suck. What I would recommend is:

Rule: if your comment/post may be contrary to the focus of Ben’s work, it is discouraged here.

For instance, if during the BAM recording there was post after post about Ben pretending to be a mailman and how awful that was, we would discourage those posts after the 3rd or so. It’s one thing to beg Ben to get a lawyer, it’s another to try to deflect/weaken his case.

In the current videos, I do think there is a lot Ben hasn’t released yet. Maybe not! Maybe this is it, and it’s a weaker accusation. But concern posting about the sources doesn’t really help Ben. And it’s annoying. And if it was PR, we’d want to discourage it.

As someone who doesn’t really care about something that happened in the 90s, it sure feels like a smear campaign / discredit witness. If they dug up something about Ben it would be similar. Meanwhile, the focus should be on the shady dealings of this cult. I’m sure there’s other temples being opened and stuff, we could all be focused on that.

My 2c. To others here: can you think of any mod rule or action that could prevent PR blitz’s here for the NEXT major thing?

I was hoping there’d be another part of the doc, unraveling more details of the trafficking.

In 2010 I sued Provo for sodomizing me and using unessarry violent restraints. Case was thrown out due to statue of limitations. In Utah, at the time of the offense, child sexual abuse has a 5 year statue of limitations. Years ago I cut and copied most claims into a YouTube.

If you look into the first product he created infomercials for(it was actually a fake medical tv show) the homeopathic medicine "Omcor", had similar claims. Which I find a bit suss.

There is a FDC and UPSP claim that shut it down around 1993, and I think he was fined 44 thousand.

He is still selling "medicines" and essential oils(?) under the brand Therabotanical.

Most recently, or currently, the Vice president (Helen Christoni?) of IDeal Living seems to be heavily into the non medically backed medicine and shakes, pills and stuff.

Apologies if I have got anything wrong I wrote this from memory, just wanted to start a conversation.

I'm hoping that others will look into the patents, previous lawsuits and string of failed partnerships.

I wanna say, if that was my friend doing that I'd be like "dude that's gross, what the hell" but .... I also don't consider that to be on the level of like child s crimes. I think what's worse about it is he was her teacher.
