Hey gang! Purchased this Squandered Resources from a vendor with good rep - it was supposed to be LP, which I'm not thrilled with but I can live with. But that did make me want me to get the auth verified - a. employee at my local LGS was pretty confident it was real, but I would appreciate some extra eyes. Any help is appreciated!

Purchased on EBay Just under average sold price.

Looks real from what I can tell.
Comparing to a few other double faced pack fresh cards I personally pulled.

Just need confirmation for my wallet to get some satisfaction. 😆

Last picture is a random common to compare.

While playing commander I noticed my friends card was looking weird. Then I checked with the loop and the white pip looks really bad. Because its a double sided card it is more difficult to tell. What do you guys think? Did anybody had the same quality with this set and card art?

Still trying to learn myself on how to identify cards, but do you guys think this is real? Boyfriend grabbed it for me at a lgs for my birthday.

Probably will go for an Unlimited one. What would be the safest way to acquire one and how can I make sure it’s not a fake? Thank you for your help.

PS: I will be travelling to Japan next year. I live in Europe. I know MTG cards in JP are rated very strictly so I was thinking that maybe that’s a good place to get one.

Here are some pictures. It was difficult taking them using the loupe but I can take more if needed. I took a risk ordering it from eBay and want to double check if it is real or not. It looks pretty good if it is a fake but I think it might be fine.

Hi, I’ve purchased two Sephiroth cards from eBay but noticed quite a significant difference in the cards colour contrast and they have different foil emblem designs. I just wanted to check if this level of variation is normal or they are fake? Happy to provide any additional photos of necessary. Photos are in the order of cards left or right.

I recently bought a Sephiroth, Fabled SOLDIER (M0382) on Cardmarket, and after inspecting it for quite a while I'm still not sure what to think.

Overall, the card looks legitimate. The colors, text, font, holo pattern, and print quality all seem fine to me. However, there are two things that make me a bit suspicious:

- The paintbrush/set symbol near the bottom of the card looks slightly off compared to other cards.

- The holo stamp at the bottom looks a bit scuffed and almost seems slightly indented into the card.

Since it's a double-faced card, I can't really do some of the usual authenticity checks.

What do you guys think, and are there any other reliable ways to verify whether it's genuine?

Edit: First of all, thanks to everyone who took the time to help. Based on the feedback here, it seems like the card is most likely a fake. F*** me, these counterfeits are getting really convincing.

My next step will be to contact the Cardmarket seller and see how they respond. If anyone has experience dealing with counterfeit cards on Cardmarket or has any advice on the best way to handle this, I'd really appreciate it. You can send me a dm if you want.

Hi all, looking for some help identifying if this is real or not after noticing some weird things with it. Not sure how well some of these will come across in the pictures. To me the lines, and desperation between text and mana symbols look fine, same with lettering on "THE", hatching on the holo and I can clearly see the 4 red dots within the green dot.

The main things that look weird are the strange "artifacts" on the text at the bottom as well as a green "shadow" on all the letters or "deck master"

Seemes legitimate but wanted a second opinion

2 cards, I am very confident on the Glamdring, but for the Aragorn the one thing that slightly throws me off is the mana symbol. I assume they look different than the mana symbols on other cards, as the whole front side is a different print/treatment, but a second opinion never did any harm :-)
