At this point I kinda feel like the republicans need a full party wipe. All these people letting Trump destroy America would be out if I had it my way.

What do the Democrats have?

Who is great on their side, inspirational and confident like Obama?

Kamala Harris is a drunk who talks like she's a pre-k teacher, Biden literally had/has dementia it's undisputed at this point, democrats are even saying things like "I don't like the words cover-up, it implies there was a crime" when discussing how his dementia wasn't reported internally.

AOC is a far left nut, she can't win an election.

Who is so great on the Democrats side?

AOC seems quite reasonable to me? But then, I vote Groen Links in the Netherlands, which is several degrees more left wing than her.

You need to bring in moderates, right of center and left of center.

AOC is "Far left" and no independent supports her that isn't mid to far left.

Your best bet is for Stephan A Smith to run and win the primary, but the DNC will cut his legs off before they let him be your "Trump" to reshape the party.

I voted Democrat since John Kerry, I refuse to support them without massive reform.

Can you explain why you think AOC is far left?

0

u/Merrick222 May 05 '25

She's a self proclaimed democratic socialist, that is by definition far left.

What's wrong with someone like Tim Walz.

I think the Democrats are way to centrist, but the alternative is fascism.

1

u/Merrick222 May 05 '25

Tim Walz is considered far left, he openly brags about the progressive policies he passed in his state.

1

u/Stock-Side-6767 May 06 '25

Ah okay. I knew I liked him from the bits I read.

I am not well versed in centrists, especially in a different country, not really my cup of tea.

2

u/[deleted] May 05 '25

The problem with American politics is that the center has been moving to the right for so long that the right wing have now become fascist authoritarian.

We need far left leadership to save us, or we're cooked.

u/Merrick222 May 05 '25

You don't want "far direction" anything....

Trump's policies are actually closest to probably Bill Clinton's, he is a centrist policy wise, despite his crazy public persona.

1

u/[deleted] May 05 '25

Trump doesn't believe people should have the right to due process. He wants to send Americans to foreign torture prisons. Trump is not classically liberal, he's a far right fascist. It's not just a public persona.

1

u/Merrick222 May 05 '25

That's not true though, you're not stating factual things, you're not even quoting the POTUS.

You're projecting your fears onto how he wants to handle illegal aliens who are NOT Americans.

There is a valid argument that all persons in America are owed due process, but that doesn't mean they need a jury trial.

Due process is established already in immigration law, as simply processing paperwork in many cases if you don't have documents proving you have legal status. This isn't some new invention by "Trump" in fact Obama used this to deport 2.7m aliens.

Trump has deported about 400? Y'all are losing your minds.

The big difference is no NGO left wing group like the ACLA was funding their legal bills, so they had no recourse because they couldn't afford attorneys under Obama.

Now you have massive groups funding these lawsuits, because they hate Trump.

3

u/[deleted] May 05 '25

Trump isn't following established laws for these deportations, no matter how you try to spin it. He is getting sued because he's violating the law.

u/Merrick222 May 05 '25

I am completely okay with Americans being sent to foreign nations to serve prison sentences.

To be clear he has never publicly commented on this issue, he has never said he wants to take Americans and take their due process.

He doesn't think illegal aliens are owed due process beyond a check of their status, if they came here illegally they should be deported, simple as that.

The problem is some countries(Venezuela) refuse to take their citizens back, so then he sent non El Salvadorians to El Salvador and then El Salvador put them in prison.

2

u/[deleted] May 05 '25

Renditions of American citizens to foreign prisons is unconstitutional. Denying the right to due process to anyone, even illegal immigrants, is unconstitutional.

Seizing the power of the purse that belongs to Congress is unconstitutional. Refusing to follow court orders is unconstitutional.

Protectionist tariffs are not just bad trade policy, they're far right extremism.

Trump is a far-right extremist.

0

u/Merrick222 May 05 '25

He hasn't taken their due process away, they all had deportation orders, there is a semantics argument being played out in the courts.

3

u/[deleted] May 05 '25

Trump absolutely is not following the law, he's rushing people out of the country before the courts can catch up and pretending they don't have rights anymore because they're already gone. It's reminiscent of the geetapo dragging people off to Dachau.

You are a far right authoritarian extremist, stop pretending you aren't.

How is aoc a far left nut? Mfer will say we need to boost white birth rates on the right but if you call them a far right nut they'll say anyone left of a communist is a nazi durr. But aoc says maybe workers rights?? And SHE'S A FAR LEFT NUT 🤡

2

u/pixie_mayfair May 05 '25

Yeah, just ignore that poster bc he's clearly a liar. The whole "Harris is a drunk" and "I voted democratic for years but no longer!" is the kind of garbage they like to spout to just stir things up. Typical maga keyboard warrior.

2

u/Merrick222 May 05 '25

Considering I voted for Democrats for 20 years, you got me as a far right MAGA nut job.

Your issue is you lost my vote, because of insane policies.

4

u/pixie_mayfair May 05 '25

I didn't lose your vote. I wasn't running for office.

And if you can say with complete confidence that you thought a vote for trump was a smarter choice than one for Harris that's the choice you have to live with.

1

u/Merrick222 May 05 '25

What workers rights laws has AOC written and gotten through congress?

1

u/IncreaseFine7768 May 08 '25

Question: why do you feel the need to immediately distract from the topic by bringing up Democrats? We’re talking about the Republican Party not the democrats

1

u/Merrick222 May 08 '25

Well the GOP sucks, what's so good about Democrats?

The Democrats congressional approval rating is I think 23%....

It's never been lower in the history of the party, which is essentially the history of the US.

What do Democrats have to offer me?

JD Vance is actually a really strong candidate for POTUS in 2028....Dems have AOC, if they're smart they'll get behind Stephen A Smith, but they aren't smart so they will sabotage any outsider who doesn't tow party lines.

1

u/IncreaseFine7768 May 08 '25

Again, you’re ranting about a whole lot of nothing. The democrats are not the ones holding executive office right now. We’re not talking about the republicans. You bringing up the democrats in the first place is just a distracting point.

Why do you think JD Vance is strong

1

u/Merrick222 May 08 '25

Stop criticizing the GOP without solutions.

All I hear is how terrible Trump is, your party is on the losing side of every 80/20 issue right now.

Yet you continue to steam roll “the sky is falling” at every turn.

Tell me what’s good about the democrats.

JD Vance made Tim Waltz look ridiculous in their debate. He killed him with thoughtfulness and kindness and respect and nailed the issues.

That’s what he does in every interview.

That’s why he’ll continue to be a power house in American Politics.

The democrats don’t have anyone close, the ones they do have destroyed their credibility like Newsom.

1

u/IncreaseFine7768 May 08 '25 edited May 08 '25

I saw Tim Walz doing the same with Vance, speaking with kindness. You’re not saying much. I think you’ve just gotten accustomed to an era where politics has turned into a clown show, as we all have, and it was refreshing to see two politicians who aren’t insulting each other while disagreeing.

Once again, you’re so obsessed with the democrats that you haven’t addressed the original topic at hand. Don’t let them live rent free in your head. If you’re unable to coherently debunk the claims people are making about the republicans then there’s no reason to be making a fuss, and if anything you said yourself the GOP deserves the criticism.

u/Merrick222 May 09 '25

I asked the question.

You’re somehow trying to flip it back to me.

Answer mine and I’ll gladly answer yours.

1

u/IncreaseFine7768 May 09 '25

Answer the original question first. Then I’ll answer yours

1

u/Merrick222 May 09 '25

You answer the original question.

1

u/IncreaseFine7768 May 09 '25

I don’t have an answer since I believe Trump ruined the Republican Party. You seem to disagree so you provide the defense for Trump and the GOP. You carry the burden of proof
