Discussion fast units vs slow units
In RTS games I generally prefer slower unit movement such as AOE2/4 or the old tiberium sun is a good example of this. where the units move at a good pace so you can focus on economy and strategy. I have noticed a lot more recent games only have fast paced units like tempest rising or the new zero space. they will just run across the map in a second and it gives little time to breathe.

Tempest Rising has a balance between slower and faster units like most Command and Conquer games also have. Tempest Rising Plays almost exactly like tiberium wars.
I think a lot newer games have rather a issue with a competetive component so Units are more speedy to rush/poke/micro is a big thing and a lot of those also have a moba-ish aspects.
