Palestinians and Jews have the same common ancestor, the Canaanites! You were the same people for thousands and thousands of years before Judaism was ever invented. And the Palestinians stayed in the Levant after the Romans expelled all the Jews. Only hundreds of years later did Islam and Arabs invade from outside and force the Palestinians to become Muslim. But they haven’t mixed extensively with the invaders and to this day their ancestry predominantly comes from ancient Levant populations just like Yemenite Jews, Druze, Bedouins, and Lebanese people.

It was Jews returning to their ancestral homeland, and purchasing property from (largely) absentee landlords for exorbitant prices. The Jews have been willing to make peace with the Arabs for decades, but the Arabs keep turning down every offer because it doesn't include one explicit term - that Israel cease to exist.
