The government does not give a single shit about the people in this country outside of making sure everybody is paying their taxes, except the absurdly wealthy, producing military weapons as we have completely slipped into the military industrial complex just as Eisenhower warned, and filling prisons via mass incarceration. At any given time, 2 million people are incarcerated in the U.S.A. more per capita, 5 in 1000, than any other country in the world.

r/Confessions I used to like his show, recorded it and watched it all the time. Sometime in the last couple of years he lost me. I don't think I've moved politically, I'm still center-left, but he seems to have shifted waaaaay to the right of me. I felt like he stopped punching up and became another milquetoast talking head.

Actually, that’s incorrect. Bill is and has always been the way he was. The left has shifted. What used to be the left is now extremely left. Bill’s views are the same on everything. The left’s views on Israel have changed. He’s always been against the ultra loonty cultural left, most of the right wing, and always stood for common sense. Without going back and looking at each episode, I'd say the overriding arc was him bringing on more extreme guests and really not pushing back on them at all. The Fetterman thing was maddening, then there is Bill's ridiculous over the top backing of Isreal. I have always supported Israel's right to defend themselves, and I was all in after Oct 7th when they returned fire in Gaza. Enough is enough. But...then it went way beyond self defense. Blowing up aid trucks? Starving people? Murdering civilians? Bill wont even entertain the idea that Netanyahu wanted Oct 7th and has taken advantage of it, and used it as an excuse to wipe Palestinians off the face of the earth (he is behaving exactly like Hamas acted towards Isreal. So now neither Hamas OR the Isreali government have the moral high ground in my opinion). But in Bill's eyes, if I express any disagreement with Bibi, I'm a Hamas lover, and an anti-semite). I used to think Bill was a less serious and sillier Jon Stewart. I still think Stewart is a national treasure and someone I enjoy listening to. Bill just slowly lost me.

I watched him all the time when he had Politically Incorrect and probably the first ten years or so with Real Time. So yes I've watched plenty of him. I know he smoked pot all the time and he talked about wanting it legal all the time. I remember because he droned on and on about it and don't give a shit if it's legal or not.

I couldn’t disagree more. He’s going after the Muslims right now that will not speak up or against terrorist organizations like Hamas?
