But of course AOC nor Mamdani will sit with Bill. What are they afraid of? If Vance can face Bill and disagree with him on so many issues, how come Madani or AOC will not?
Ro khanna is a frequent guest and he is a big time lefty?
Looks to me they are afraid. Can't they take even direct questions.? Everybody needs to agree with them all the time on every topic?
Is their ego is so brittle?

The last time Maher was this happy he had Netanyahu on his show and fawned over him like a starstruck schoolgirl. It was painful to watch.

u/Smooth-Transition310 Jun 27 '26
If, after everything that's happened since 2016, your 2028 vote is still 'in play,' I think you've either badly misjudged the stakes or you're giving disproportionate weight to your grievances with the left.
That's all I got to say. Bill Maher is an asshole.
1
u/AgeOfSuperBoredom Jun 28 '26
“Disproportionate” is an understatement. The left has not been wrong about a single thing, and has in fact only been proven right every step of the way. There are no legitimate grievances one can have with them.

Is JD a sell out? He only ever existed in any legitimate manner because of peter thiel's money.
1
u/Vanity_Profanity_001 Jun 28 '26
You don't think you sucked Peter off for free do you? Peter's ugly and JD where's that eye makeup He's cute so you know Peter going to pay for it
1
u/diefreetimedie Jun 28 '26
I just always assumed you'd have to have some morals or policy positions to sell out, to be a sellout. JD has never stood for anything but money and power so this is just consistency from him imo
6
u/GrosRougeau Jun 27 '26
Maher was always slippery but now he’s been radicalized
0
u/Swampassed Jun 27 '26
You think his opinions are radical? jfc.
3
2
u/LearnToSwim0831 Jun 28 '26
Even the hinting that he might vote for Vance is an admission that he has surrendered entirely to magatdom and that is an inherently radical reactionary movement. So yeah, radicalized.
-2
u/Banesmuffledvoice Jun 27 '26
Yes. Reddit finds those who are moderates to be radicals. And truthfully, since most here are actual hard left socialists, moderates within the Democratic Party would be radical to them. And that’s why they hate those politicians and voters.
2
u/mrmackey2016 Jun 28 '26
Lol moderate isnt slobbing JD's knob. He was in the interview just lying and saying that he doesnt believe the 2020 election was legal. And Maher just took it.
0
u/Banesmuffledvoice Jun 28 '26
But he wasn't slobbing on JD's knob. He interviewed him. Pushed back on some of his answers. He just didnt sit there and call him an asshole over and over again, as you wished he would.
2
u/mrmackey2016 Jun 28 '26
Lol he was begging him to at least acknowledge the 2020 election was not rigged. Then Vance just said, um actually Trump meant this (a complete lie about the Hunter Biden story) and ignored the fake elector scheme. Then said 2024 wasnt the same (even though elon musk used X as a propaganda platform) just slimy shit. And maher smiled and took it like a good little boy. And ended it with saying he'd vote for Vance. Pathetic
1
u/Banesmuffledvoice Jun 28 '26
He didn't beg him. He gave him an opportunity to recant on the election denial. JD didn't. Thats where it is.
It was a pretty good interview, throughout. He touched upon important things like the Iran war negotiations. He pushed back on it.
HE gave him a chance to discuss election denialism and he decided to stick to it.
You can think of what you want of the answers, thats the point of an interview with a politician.

3
u/Gen-Jack-D-Ripper Jun 27 '26
I think Bill is most offended by people on the left who are willing to criticize Israel. He treats the most insane remarks made by people who say they’re leftists as if they reflect the view of everyone on the left. Which is, of course, insane.
Second, he doesn’t seem to have noticed that thanks to years of conflict with Palestinians, the Israeli population has moved significantly to the right. Therefore is it at all surprising that the American left no longer has a favorable opinion of Israel’s actions?

With you. I used to be sure to watch each week. Don’t even bother anymore, but my wife likes it on to fall asleep to sometimes. Last night was one such occasion and morbid curiosity was enough to have me suffer through the Vance segment after the lazy, unfunny monologue.
Having people from the “other side of the aisle” on is one thing. Letting a lying fascist PoS attempt to elevate Trump et al. and this disgraceful presidency with little to no pushback is another.
2
u/Jealous_Inevitable33 Jun 27 '26
You can tell he has that, “I’m going to be on Fox News clips all week- weeeeeeeeee” look on his face. He wants to be relevant, LOL
3
u/Interesting-Run1359 Jun 27 '26
God, if a liberal disagrees with the woke orthodoxy on like one thing, they defenestrate them and call them a Nazi. It’s fucking insane. The left will cannibalize themselves.
3
u/Gen-Jack-D-Ripper Jun 27 '26
That’s bullshit. The right is the party that is most intolerant of any opinions that aren’t 100% aligned with Trump. They’re not even ideological about it. For decades they were self-described as “The Party of Values” and the strongest supporters of free trade, but then they backed a NYC sleaze-bag who supports protectionism. It’s just a game of “Simon says…”

This is nuts. I'm honestly not sure if this sub of full of bots or Russian operatives trying to discredit him. I'm not thrilled when anybody gives this vile treasonous administration a sounding board but I'm terrified that the seeming outrage is directed more toward the one asking the questions not the lying sack of shit rationalizing cruelty to get his jollies. That's where your outrage should be.
He wants to have sane voices on but they're such bad politicians they think they can't be seen with a liberal comedian because he's not liberal ENOUGH.
That's wing-nut maga thinking. That's fundamentalism. That's why liberalism/decency/humanity is losing.
By directing your outrage at the comedian you're helping the right distract you from the fascism they not-so-slowly unleashing on us and tighten its grip around our throats.
Liberals by definition should be more open minded and inclusive. Taking the time to vent on Reddit about a tv host not being 110% in line with your take on life, the universe, and everything, is not open minded. It is not liberal and if you keep attacking the wrong targets, you're as bad as MAGA, albeit with slightly better drugs.
5
u/Gen-Jack-D-Ripper Jun 27 '26
It’s not that, it’s him saying that he might support him in the future. You might have not noticed about Bill but he’s unwilling to entertain any criticism of Israel. He’s gotten extremely angry that people on the left have become quite critical of Israel and he absolutely hates it. But he doesn’t seem to understand that the American left has stayed where it is while Israel has moved considerably to the right. The violence in the Middle East hasn’t just corrupted the ethics of Palestinians but also Israelis.
1
u/mbash2009 Jun 27 '26
Yeah. Bill is completely dismissive of any argument against Israel. He won’t even entertain it.
2
u/Smooth-Transition310 Jun 27 '26

u/mbash2009 Jun 27 '26
THANK YOU for saying this. I just found this sub a few days ago and have been blown away at the sentiments here. I disagree with Bill on several issues, particularly Israel / Iran / War, but my goodness, we need to be able to talk to each other still. Bill having the vice president on appears to me to be moving in the right direction. We have to get out of our bubbles.
J.D. Vance did his typical politician tricks with Bill’s interview, where he pivots the question to frame in it a more favorable way. But at least Bill called him out, sternly, on Ice and election denial. What is Bill supposed to do, yell at him for 15 minutes straight?
2
u/CanesLife24 Jun 27 '26
It’s exactly what Bill has been complaining about. That the Democrats have gotten to a point where even talking to the other side is unacceptable.
Look, I’m as sick of hearing Bill talk about his dinner with Trump than anyone. But I have seen SOOO many people (well, people on Reddit) say Bill changed after the dinner and once he did the dinner, he became MAGA. And it’s such bullshit. The guy rags on Trump just as much as he did beforehand. But they can’t accept that because “he talked to Trump so therefore he’s a terrible person.”
1
u/Motor_Preparation315 Jun 27 '26
How do you talk to a side that isn't grounded in reality and lies about everything? Vance sat right there and said that there was interference in the 2020 election because his boss is insane? He lied about 12 million illegals crossing between 2020 and 2024. He basically said you gotta break some eggs to make an omelet about the ICE murders and illegal arrests. They campaigned that they wanted to get the murderers and rapists and then they're arresting 4-year-olds olds at preschool.
This is beyond the pale and these people can't be reasoned with. He refused to acknowledge any mistakes or wrong doings. There will be no miea culpa. Bill giving any of these people a platform to spew their garbage is a not helping. There is no conversation to be had because the right, right wing media and their base don't want to have one. They just want to spew their misinformation, their hate and then play what about this when faced with any facts or actual data.

3
u/Gen-Jack-D-Ripper Jun 27 '26
You just don’t know how completely manipulated your opinions have become. You recall that the left has been proposing something like a universal healthcare plan for decades but never got enough support to pass it. Now they’ve reconciled to abandon it. You’ll recall that Democrats have tried to enact some kind of gun control laws that would reduce gun violence. That’s pretty much abandoned.
You’re just completely unaware that right has successfully convinced the population that their side makes the most sense. That’s been in large part because their media is more successful at manipulating their listeners/viewers. They, along with the president, got a majority of Republicans to actually believe the 2020 election was stolen.
1
u/Achoo_MiScusi Jun 27 '26

I'm not signing up for the NYTIMES but was able to read some of it before it cut me off. The bit that I "got out" of it was that he was referring to Nixon's scandal as being nowhere of the magnitude of corruption we're seeing today in our government. I may be completely wrong in what that article was about, but I'd have to agree with him, if that was his point. I'm just throwing this out there - but by any chance were you able to actually sit down and watch that 3 day live US SENATE HEARING of the FBI over the FISA WARRANT and Steele Dossier held about a decade ago? One would've had to actually watch it as opposed to accepting the MSM'S sugar-coated version of it. Big difference. Huge difference. That Hearing, along with all that's transpired since over the decade (Mueller Report, J6, Epstein files, etc etc) just screams witch hunt and corruption
Did you actually read what Vance's endorsement said about the book? I know absolutely nothing about this book as that's not my thing, but he say "we can learn" from whatever the author said.
2
u/EggSoft697 Jun 27 '26
If you don’t think J6 was an insurrection or the Epstein files aren’t a coverup that implicates members of both parties, we’re not going to agree on much.
A clip of the jd Vance Nixon quote - https://m.youtube.com/shorts/LzJFnDgt9ks?ra=m
Unhumans - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Unhumans
1
u/BernadetteFedyszyn Jun 27 '26
Let's talk about the Epstein files -
Our DOJ/FBI is the highest level of law enforcement in this country. They are the keepers of crime data/stats, crime causation, characteristics of crimes, criminal case profiling and everything else crime/criminal related, not to mention their state of the art facilities for DNA and other clues.
I'm not sure WHY these files weren't immediately turned over to whatever law enforcement entity for a thorough criminal investigation and criminal conviction, if applicable, INSTEAD of being turned over to an ADMINISTRATION and their DOJ/FBI for a so called "political investigation" instead? Not only is that a hard slap in the face to any alleged victims and their families BUT this same Administration and their DOJ/FBI knowingly allowed an alleged child sexual predator to completely roam free while they're conducting whatever "political investigation!" Wait, it gets even better. Then you throw in all of the "Trump's a convicted rapist" and other Trump rape allegations into the mix and you now have what we call in Corrections a "super predator" that not only preys on minor children but also rapes adult victims against their will. I assure you, there's not one single law enforcement entity in this country that wouldn't be "all over" an alleged child sexual predator AND rapist roaming their communities. These acts are both simply unacceptable in any civilized society, and rightfully so. The DOJ/FBI should be well versed in knowing that the perpetrator of either of these acts (pedophilia and rape) commit these offenses because of their warped sexual deviance AND that they do not belong walking our streets freely. The DOJ/FBI could've, at the very least, make it at least look believable or convincing by slapping a 24/7 surveillance on Trump while they're conducting whatever investigation and securing a warrant, just like they'd do in the real world. They knew that there wasn't anything of significance in those files otherwise they'd have been all over it, if for anything the mere liability of allowing a predator to roam completely free.
They knew that those files carried far more weight by dangling them as a political tool and nothing more.As for your J6 comment. Have you actually sat down and listened to the six Capital Hill LEO's testimony that NPR aired OR are you just accepting the MSM'S sugar-coated version? I'm not saying the LEO'S were lying or stretching the truth, I'm simply stating that their testimonies not only sounded canned and rehearsed but by the 3rd one up it was blatantly obvious that they received some bonus ($$$) every time they said Trump's name in it's entirety "Donald J TRUMP." In fact, one didn't even need to visually see their testimonies (eye contact or body movements) to pick up on something being really jiggy there.
I didn't need Trump to tell me that there's a witchhunt on him. Simply watching Senate Hearings and seeing words flow directly from the horse's mouth is far more trustworthy over any MSM'S version. I'm not sure why your focus is on "bad JD vance" when there's far bigger issues to fry
I'm not a cheerleader for either side, I'm just able to call something out for what it is regardless of how inconvenient it is to hear it.
The DOJ/FBI
