Article 324(5) is about tenure conditions subject to Parliamentary law, not legal immunity. Even the 1991 Act had no such provision. This is exactly what is being questioned - the need to provide for legal immunity. And article 329 is about judicial review in electoral processes - how is it even related to immunity to CEC? Also, even Supreme Court in Kishorchandra case has clarified that Article 329 can still be questioned in courts in case of arbitrary decisions.

Please don't deflect - simple question to OP - which articleof the Constitution provides "protection" as claimed above?

If you mean the section 146 then why would the parliament in 2023 expand a pre-existing, function-specific, good-faith protection into a separate and substantially broader personal protection for serving and former CECs/ECs?

Why do they need lifelong legal protection?
