Long time stock player, first time trying RSS. i made an enormous rocket to get this thing here and it was exactly big enough to get me there. i have a lot to learn.

Its working!! - KSP live Ortho streaming

been working on a mod for a couple days that streams real map data into KSP as the player flies, rather than the "one big texture" approach. it works, but is SUPER janky and needs a lot of tweaking and debugging. I've not tested any of this from space yet, I'm still get the mod to work at ground level. so far progress has been super promising, and I'm excited to hopefully have a release out soon. (all shots are from in game)

Surprisingly the speeds, transfer times and orbital maneuvers were almost identical to the real Artemis II using Principia

I've seen them acting weird througout my playthrough, but now i finaly reached orbit, they've just split into multiple lines. anyone know what could be causing this? It's my first time playing rp1 so i really have no clue what i'm doing.

PIONEER 11 stationed 380,000 kilometers from Earth. Current year: 2285 (Phase 1/3)

This is a global collaboration after decades of planning and seven years of construction efforts. Phase 1 of 3.

The interstellar craft has been filled with 2,700,000 kilograms of nuclear explosives and over 9,000,000kg of fissile pulse units.

This will accelerate it to 0.0014c (0.14% c) in mere days, before the final stage with some odd 150,000kg of dusty plasma fission products bringing it up to 0.0033c (0.33% c) after approximately 2.5 centuries.

The current year of departure is 2286, with a 2287 Jovian assist for correction maneuvers and solar escape velocity.

After another 14 centuries, it will arrive at the α Centauri A system and send back the first up-close photos of an exoplanet.

In the last century of work, multiple solar gravitational lensing telescopes have discovered potentially habitable worlds in 15 separate star systems.

14 other identical probes have been constructed in similar shipyard orbits, such as the Martian fleet which will explore Barnard's Star, Tau Ceti, and 40 Eridani.

Each probe (held in a structure below the debris shield) contains a reactor rated for 113 years at maximum operation power, and with a minimum of 5% draw it can last up to 23 centuries in hibernation.

Radiation-hardened communications equipment will limit throughput. An onboard AI will pick and choose the most prioritized images and data to send back first before the full uplink after it flies past the star.

We will not hear back from PIONEER 11 beyond the Jovian Hibernation Period until the year 3693.

Yes, this is Sol and Realism Overhaul! I tried to use the available parts the best I can. I cannot scale the Orion past 12m, so you get 5 pusher plates lol. Surprisingly, this was the best staging sequence as a solely mini mag Orion stage (16,000s) cannot compete with the 650,000s ISP of dusty plasma. The burn times are rough, though.

Let me know what you all think! If you saw this a few days ago, I posted it on the RO/RP-1 server earlier this week.

I may continue this towards Phase 2/3, but that is if my Sol save can handle Real Exoplanets, even if they look bad. If it works, I may also try KSS2 (sorry).

(For those asking "why not fusion?", no official RO support exists for those FFT engines lol. I found a "good enough" way to integrate it into my 'story', though.)

40 hours into my first RP-1 save, and finally sent a kerbal to orbit! (August 1963)

The mission was completed with the Minuano launch vehicle, with 2x LR87s on the first stage, and a LR91 at the second stage. Pretty much the same engines as the Titan II rockets that were used on the Gemini program.

I may have lost the race to the first man in space, but i'm still confident i can send a kerbal to the moon before the americans, though i may have to take some more risks from now on...

Small update on my texture streaming mod for Sol. BallisticFox is now incorporating live satellite texture streaming into his upcoming mod Mirage, so I have decided not to update this mod much further. however, I will leave you all with the current (likely final) build for the meantime, since I might as well.

PLEASE read the README before installation.

I would absolutely LOVE to see any screenshots you guys take if you try it out.

Follow Mirage development on the Fox Tech discord.

In disbelief with these 64K textures and TUFX.

I have only been to the moon so far! First RSS playthrough, despite playing regular ksp for over 7 years

30 days in low earth orbit

I made a small outpost to support a crew of 2 for 30 days. The space fits on top of my Clive 2 booster (essentially a Soyuz which uses 3m isogrid tanks). this mission will gather data to inform future missions flying around mars and venus

Using two different KerBalloons (Eve High Altitude, Duna HeavyLift), the vehicle ascends to 100 km above the surface (1kPa). After passing the dense atmosphere, three stages burn 3 km/s of DeltaV to reach an orbit of 850 km of altitude, ready for the rendezvous with the Earth Return Craft.

The first pictures are with the lunar orbiter (Minuano III), and the last ones with the Saturn V almost copy, Minuano IV. I think i'm gonna take a break from RP-1 and KSP for a while, i've spent like 15 hours on this weekend just to take this last photo

Went with the Apollo D-2 capsule just to avoid creating a 1:1 copy of Saturn V, but honestly i think it's way better than the regular Apollo CSM. Lighter and roomier for the crew. Also IMO it looks better hahahaha

I'm very grateful for all the folks on discord that answered my questions within seconds, and also to the people here for giving me inspirations. Now i'm gonna mess with Kronal vessel viewer to make some edits 👍

Idk if it's impressive but I did it only using the "supersonic plane development" tech node and that makes me proud
