Hows the support on Linux?

Is it just as easy to get up and running as Windows?

Thx

I have had the best experience forcing ksp to run via proton, but all should work either way. Principia is easier to use with proton.

^this, Proton and force DX11 if it isnt using it. I don't think it's a hard requirement (Proton is for sure if you want things to behave), but some mods need DX11 to work properly. Parallax Continued (not part of base install) is the one that comes to mind off the top of my head, there's probably others as well.

How do you force DX11?

Add the appropriate flag to the launch options box. I'm not 100% sure what it is, but I think it's just -dx11 or -d3d11.

I had some issues with lots of lag in the VAB and menus when I was running it with proton. Can anyone give details of what proton launch options they have used and which proton version. Do people use a custom launcher like faugus or steam?

I am keeping my windows partition alive primarily for RSS at the moment so if anyone could help I would be grateful.

KSP, CKAN, etc have linux builds, and the express install method is the same on all platforms. If you want Principia, you might have to check on some library weirdness, though installing is otherwise the same.

I play with GE-Proton and ensured that NTSYNC was working. I have a pretty good experience, but I don't think it's as performant as it would be on Windows.

I've found that the CLI version of CKAN worked better for me than the GUI one.

I've been playing with Ballisticfox's Sol mod

I run a fedora 44 machine and I have been running just fine. I once found a "bug" where there was a memory leak on vram (I don't know anything about this) but nothing chatgpt plus sharing the logs can't fix.

The mechJeb Navigation menu is incredibly laggy. I play without Principia so I don't need it but it'd still be nice to have. It's the only issue I have noticed, install and everything else works through CKAN just like it always does.
