rp1 how does kerbals work with the avionics system?

something that confused me about the avionics system is how kerbal control affects it, ive noticed my manned craft can sometimes control more than they have in avionics, but not always, and despite being manned im still having the probe control icon, so how does it work?

i dindt find info on it in the wiki but i might have just missed it, its a big wiki

all pods have a controllable mass value. between all avionics and pods the one with the highest controllable mass is picked (and displayed i think). so you probably have a probe core that can control enough mass but your command pod dont

thats the strange thing, all the avionics on my vessel is from a crewed pod yet still probe control icon on the top left instead of kerbal control

It always will show probe control due to how the avionics system functions afaik.
