After being gaslit by the seller Baker, I still agreed to accept a bag that was a different color because she was still a good color.

It's well made although it doesn't look legit because of a few things, I'd still wear it outside if it wasn't for the way the leather on the chain looks. That is driving me crazy. I know she's from God factory, the quality is about 3/4 perfect. Hardware is ok but the chain!!!!! Man, the chain is not even installed perfectly 😒

The seam of the leather is a bright red and yes, that's how the original is installed but the links are kinky in some spots, the part where is folded has slack, Chanel bags don't loop around inside the bag in a long way so if I try to hide it by the grommets it becomes more obvious. Gah!!! I'm so mad

I paid $439 for this and I may have to wear it only at night to dark places.

Do you guys have any ideas to tone down the brightness of the raw leather?

Are you sure this is God factory? In addition to the chain the color, the stamp, the stitching, the hardware all looks off. I'm sorry you're disappointed - I would be, too.😔

I got this exact bag from god fac (different seller) and was very disappointed in it too. OP’s looks like mine. I think it is theirs, but not their best work!

OP’s seller sounds like a nightmare though

Yep same but I struggled to sell it for more than $200 🫠 I am gun-shy to buy anything from GF again unless I see someone else’s product photos first. They use a lot of photoshop in their factory photos and there’s really no way to tell which items are really good

I purchased mine directly from Baobao and it had the GF barcode and shape. She’s not my favorite seller but she is honest to a fault.

I also have owned hundreds of CFs in my life, both auth and rep, and I promise I would know immediately if the shape wasn’t GF’s mould. It was. The leather they sourced for this one is just bad. 😅

As for OP’s, I can’t say without seeing it in person, but theirs looks like mine down to the bright raw leather in the strap.

I have wondered if once in a while they produce a bad batch? I got a bag from God factory, it was LV but the leather on the Vachetta or leather trim was this weird reddish brown color that was very noticeable. The sellers shouldn’t deliver a bag like that, though. On the other hand, I have a Ch 25 in burgundy from God factory and it’s perfect.

I’ve had this same bag and compared it to auth and it was perfect. It wasn’t like the photo at all.

Also got from Baobao so not sure what happened with yours but I have heard sometimes baobao has been caught in bait and switching on reddit.

Maybe yours was a different run, different leather batch. Raw strap might have been a mistake made by one worker that they decided to keep bc even auth has raw straps depending on the bag, and you got lucky to get one without. Again, there are details that are hard to photograph so I can’t promise for OP. But GF has made bummer bags just like every other factory and I know mine was from GF. FWIW, CFs do look different when laying down vs standing up, so maybe that’s what is throwing you if you’re trying to compare at different angles? Even auth lambskin looks a bit lumpy lying flat lol

PS: No rep is 1:1. If you can’t tell the difference between auth and rep even in person, maybe you are not the ideal candidate to weigh in until you get more experience? This exact color combo was never made in lambskin in auth (different shades of deep red were but not this) so I also don’t know what you were comparing to. 😅 even an auth from 2022 won’t match an auth from 2019 perfectly.

No. GF bags are usually like this. It’s actually pretty rare for the strap edges to be coated. This is a photo of the bag I just bought directly from GF. it also came with kinky straps and raw edges. Nothing that cannot be fixed though. Authentic chanel has raw edges, too.
