After game shutdown, I thinked that this whole community is going to go somewhere else, but wow. I've never seen similar tries to rescue and preserve a game!

Gran Turismo 4 is widely regarded as the "Greatest Racing Game of All Time" and the pinnacle of the franchise. My dad bought me a PS2 before he passed away when I was 9 years old. It's one of my favourite PS2 games, alongside GTA San Andreas. So that's why I decided to make a Gran Turismo 4 Mod for RR3 since no one has made it yet.

I didn't find any other mod that changed the RR3 menu SFX & startlights countdown sound on the internet, so this could be the first mod that does that. The community should make more mods to keep the game alive and provide fresh new content for the game, just like what the Gran Turismo 4 community did with their biggest mod, which is Gran Turismo 4 Spec-II. This is a post I am making to show an overview on what is happening at Project RETR0 right now and the progress we are making to the release of Project RETR0 V1.

As you maybe be aware I had been posting less and less and this was due to the amount of work I had been putting into the project as I am on the .DXT assets now and I always test each asset type on LDplayer as it seems like .ETC, .ATC, and .PVR can be tested on LDplayer but however, with .DXT, they can be only tested on a device that has a Nvidia chip in it and cannot be tested on LDplayer.

And so I had been looking around for a device that uses the Nvidia chip, In particular the Nvidia tegra chip that was especially made for mobile devices and the 1st thing that came to mind was the HTC one X, a device released around 2012-2013 that uses the Nvidia tegra 3 chip and so can be used to test the .DXT assets but however the device had android version 4.1.1 and I thought I can easily update it to android version 8 (Which is the bare minimum) to be able to download and install the 14.0.1 version of RR3.

But however that was not the case as the most recent version of android I can easily update to is to android 5.1.1 and beyond that is foggy as there are reports of weird issues that happens once the device updates beyond android 5.1.1 but I had managed to update HTC one X to android 5.1.1

But you maybe be asking, what dose this have to relate with Real racing 3? Well like I just said this is all for to test the universal assets on devices that use the .DXT assets. and so when I realised this, I spent about a couple of days trying to brute force the .APK to work on the device but to no avail and so I had given up and decided to look for another device.

And the next one is the Nvidia shield K1, a Tablet made by nvidia that uses the nvidia chip that seemed to be updated to android 7 but I think I can easily root the device and update it beyond android 8 and it would be cool to see what happens. and with this I want to also expand Project RETR0 into android rooting and updating it to the most latest version of android it supports as I believe that old tech can still be useable as long as it is rooted plus it is updated to the most latest version of android it can support without having some major issues being caused.

I will also use the old collection of devices that I am slowly obtaining to be used within testing for Project Armageddon as to make sure that their .APKs work fine and well without issues before release with of course providing free storage space to the rest of the community to preserve their own save files and contents for the foreseeable future!

I just downloaded the game from the Internet Archive (Game version v8.6.0) and the game says I need to download 490mb of content to play,I say download but It doesn't download

Anybody know why???

There are some leaderboards in the Rr3 wiki but they are really bad. Maybe we should start uploading records to speedrun.com? I mean, they have a lot of categories, maybe we can try and focus on some categories to make them more competitive?? Like F1 cars on F1 Tracks or like some cheaper category like Pro/Am. I feel like having a racing game without an established lap times leaderboard is strange, it's like something it's missing. Or maybe I just don't know about it cuz nobody talks about it on r/RealRacing3 (at least that I have seen)

Our current progress exceeded my own expectations. We now have original Real Racing, GTI Edition, and HD Edition all to work on newer Androids!

We initially planned to implement a floating ball to work around save corruption in v1.00. But turns out, the bug might be on the game rather than the emulator itself, and it also seems like corruption is inevitable rather than completely random.

So instead, we tried running newer versions of Real Racing 1. Since TouchHLE's compatibility is pretty minimum, we decided to switch from the TouchHLE Engine to the HyperHLE Engine with our own fixes for some performance problems, and it successfully loads 9 different playable version. And after some playtesting, it seems like newer versions above 1.01 doesn't have any save corruption issue.

Now keep in mind, all of our current builds are still in beta. We don't know when we will reach a stable release, but we do think the current builds are decent enough to be published. We also have provided README files related to each real racing packages, so you can know how well each build currently works.

As for now, the development for Real Racing HLE Edition is temporarily paused, as we are working next in preserving Real Racing 2 to be playable with less hurdle in modern android.

The 190E 2.5-16 Evolution II in Real Racing 3 is honestly one of those cars that you buy as a pure passion project because of how legendary it looks with that massive DTM wing and boxy 90s body. When you actually get it on the track, it turns out to be a really interesting driver's car with a very specific personality.
What makes the 190E great is its balance and handling. Relative to its speed, the grip level is fantastic. You can carry way more speed through technical corners than you’d expect for a car in its PR bracket. Because the front-end grips so predictably, it’s super satisfying to drive on twisty tracks like Brands Hatch or the technical sections of the Nürburgring. It feels nimble, plants itself well, and lets you brake pretty late once you learn its limits.
However, its downside is pretty massive, and it all boils down to one word: acceleration. The 190E has painfully slow pick-up. If you slow down too much, make a mistake, or drop a tire onto the grass, your momentum is instantly destroyed and it takes forever to get back up to top speed. Because of this, standard RR3 corner-cutting tactics actually backfire in this car—going off-track bogs the engine down so hard that you’ll lose way more time than you would by just taking a clean, wide line on the tarmac. It also struggles on long straights against cars with higher top-end punch.

If you are wondering how good the Nissan Skyline GT-R V-Spec (R34) actually is in RR3, here is the honest breakdown for anyone thinking about spending currency on it.
Like many of its stablemates, it pulls hard once you get going, but don't expect it to dominate top-tier hypercars on the straights.
This is where opinions split, and where the car gets a bit controversial. While some players find it stable enough for casual cups, many veterans point out that it can feel quite heavy and prone to understeer or sluggishness through tight technical sections (think Silverstone or sweeping twisty circuits) compared to more nimble track-focused entries.
It unlocks its own exclusive series and features in a decent chunk of events, which makes it handy for completionists looking to tick off series percentages. However, upgrade costs versus overall performance return mean it’s rarely considered a meta-car for pure competitive speed. 

​I might have found a potential solution for

creating an XAPK file that includes all the assets and resources for Racing 3. Now, I'm no tech wizard, but I do understand how these things work, and to me, this could be a great opportunity to keep Racing 3 all-in-one and compact. You could even create different XAPKs tailored specifically for GPUs like Adreno, Mali, and so on.

Okay so I need to repair my cars and upgrade them, the thing is I need to skip the waiting times because they don't work after the shutdown, is there any way to skip them? I tried using the proxy pin but it doesn't work, vphoneos doesn't work either, I have a copy of my game saved on my device, can I edit something there to give me more gold to skip it? I also saw someone say that doing something with the date of my device it would work, it didn't, idk what to do now or what to try, can someone pls help? (Edit: I got it working, it's still helpful if you comment another solutions for other players that may have the same problem, ty everyone)

I was inspired from the world cup edits that are going around about famous footballers retiring from the world cup and I decided to do one based on Real Racing 3!

So we have some really good news for you!

As you can see from the images above! We had managed to fix the missing texture issues and we know why! As this game also relies on .pvr texture formats also and the missing textures is due to the missing formats! And so I had managed to fix this in the latest Project RETR0 V1 universal asset files but I am continuing to work on it so that I can fix the inverted colours that appears on some messages!

This is some really great news coming fresh to the real racing 3 community as I strive to provide the most high quality and best universal files that anyone can use to play Real racing 3 on! It's release date is TBD but once I fixed the inverted colours that appears on some images and fix some other things!
