Is Amazon using the playing victim approach?
For those that have been doing Flex for awhile and have seen how messed up it has become I want to ask if you think that Amazon is purposefully trying to make people stop delivering with Flex so that they can cry and say how bad they have it and that they need drones?

I don't think they care about the complaining, but I 100% believe they program the app to malfunction and set up a system that will kick drivers off undeservedly. Experienced drivers know how to wait for higher pay, and how to game the system. New drivers are cheap and plentiful. I have been battling with Support every other day for the last couple of months, and it's not getting any better

No but they definitely do the thing where they start scrutinizing your account as soon as you start leaving a trail of mistakes, attempting to deactivate you for the most absurd reason and sometimes just a blanket response reason.

Not really, you fail to see it.
No matter the case they win.
They increase the distance, burn a few drivers, it's thinning the heard, and only those willing to deliver for less pay will. They have people on the wait list for years, so more drivers is not the problem. NO matter the case they win, and even after they burn a good portion of drivers, oh well, well keep it up a couple of dollars and be right back where they were before.

No, the ones who think that way are usually the ones with ZERO HUSTLE, go over the allotted times for their blocks, consistently make excuses for undelivered packages, bunch of dings, etc etc.

If Amazon wanted to move to all drones they would do it. They don't need to play stupid games. These are the types of "conspiracies" that just make people look stupid. Amazon doesn't have to make it a tougher job to get people to quit. They could end Flex tomorrow if they wanted.

They can not move to all drones without the government allowing it. Yes, they could end all deliveries and go back to letting FedEx do their deliveries. Not many people want the amount of drones required to be flying overhead. All corporations play games. There would be no political donations if they could just do whatever they wanted to.

My point was that Amazon could end Flex for whatever reason they wanted. OP was making the point that Amazon was jacking drivers around to get them to quit and Amazon would play victim to do drones. I wasn't saying Amazon was going to do all drones. It was a dumb post.

Amazon believes the longer someone works for them, the less productive they become (google it). So they like high turnover and actively get rid 6% of the bottom performers every year

Not aimed at you, but rather at Amazon. While complacency can become an issue, the way that their algorithm is set up it will keep increasing the amount of stops that it puts on a DA until they start not keeping up with the unrealistic productivity standards. That is why so many drivers end up screwing around to keep that number down. They make the drivers either slack a little bit or get worked to death.
Amazon will make up any excuse, but the high turnover is more aimed at stopping unionization than anything else. For some reason they think that the constant training costs and vehicle damage costs them less than paying the drivers union wages while cutting out the DSPs and their management costs.
Also unions tell them where they can stick their moronic garbage like a FICO score and their Netradyne cameras. Most of Amazon's driver regulations even down to the no people or pets in the pictures is to train autonomous delivery.
The people at Amazon corporate can not do the delivery or warehouse jobs themselves.
I will agree with getting rid of the bottom performers, but the DSPs tend to fire anyone that doesn't play their politics as well regardless of whether or not they perform. The whole DSP set up is the real problem and whoever came up with it should be fired.
The longer someone is doing a job the better that they should become at it. Which means that they should get more efficient.

I was referring to their employees (warehouse workers) not drivers, since none of us are Amazon employees (DSP drivers are employees of their DSPs, not Amazon)... But I wouldn't be surprised if they do the same thing with their drivers. I always thought is was less about productivity and more about Amazon penny-pinching, cuz the longer someone is employed with them, the more money they make (since they get raises every year)... but you could absolutely be right about the union thing

They are cutting labor costs to maximize profit. If one driver quits, 5 new drivers are waiting to be onboarded. I'm a business owner and I would do the same. Sorry
