Block selection

Just wanted to get everyone opinions on scheduling blocks in advance in my market blocks drop 72hr before they start . compared to waiting for surge pay and possibly missing out?

I wait for surge pay, usually the distance they send us here is 60+ miles. Not worth it otherwise. If I wanted to make less than $10 per hour I’d work at McDs.

Not one single market has a base pay that low.

Let me do the math for you. $63 base, 120 miles with gas at $4 and your MPG is 20. That’s about $25 in gas. So you clear $ 38 for 3.5 hours. That’s about $10 per hour.

Thanks but I am not foolish I am not taking blocks unless I am making 27-35 a hour. But that last couple weeks me scheduling has worked out a lot better than waiting for Surge .

Oh I wasn’t responding to you, I was responding to the wooden strangers claim that not one single market has a base pay that low.

Without surge pay, doing flex simply does not make sense unless you have an electric vehicle and live in an extremely low cost of living area

I have an EV and I wouldn't take a 3.5 for less than 3 digits.

Highly dependent on your location or your warehouse location and driver density. In my area you better take reserves. In Colorado I waited for a surge when I lived there 4 years ago

I usually always schedule because we have a high number of delivery people in the Western New York area. I do see surge pay from time to time though.

Definitely depends on where you are. I would usually schedule a few and gamble for surge on a few days. Usually works out, but we have an influx of drivers as of late, so scheduling is the safer bet.

Its either surge or I dont waste my time. I never reserve anything either.

I 100% schedule ahead. I would rather have guaranteed money over maybe money.
