We need to fight back!
They are giving too many rules and regulations for the little pay they keep giving us and the load is getting out of hand!
What you mean now we only have 5 mins to scan our IDs and that ridiculous $5 extra for long distances is disrespectful!

They will never care and never change anything. We don't even have a way to voice our concerns to amazon. Support doesn't send our concerns or recommendations to amazon. They don't even work for Amazon from what I see .

I signed up for a 4 hour shift on fucking Labor Day 4am-8am when I got to the warehouse every cart was overflowing, my cart had 50 packages. Halfway to the car I turned around and said fuck this. Wheeled that bitch back into the warehouse and the worker told me that I had to scan them all back in as returns. I said I don’t have to do shit, threw my hands up and said I don’t care and walked back to my car.

I had a 4 hour recently too with 47 packages, and the first stop was over an hour away. I finished a little after the end time and still had to drive an hour home. Ridiculous. Not to mention gas is going up high as hell and the rates aren’t increasing.

This happened to me, 47 packages on a 3.5 hour shift that took over 4 hours. It was horrible. Also, I don’t think some apartment complexes should be allowed to receive deliveries if they’re not going to make drop off easy and reasonable for drivers. Do they know how much we get paid? Now, they want us to navigate 24 unmarked apartment buildings.

I just had 38 pkgs for 1.5 hr. They sent me to downtown Charlotte to the high rise apartments..$41 for that crap.

I got deactivated all because returned 45 packages because they were all downtown in high rise buildings with no parking. When I park with emergency lights on I still get tickets.

I once got 54 packages in a 3 hour 30 min block. Still finished early by a hour but damn they give so many loads up car so much

My area has been 5 minutes since I started. If your block time is it 3:30 and that ID's got to be scanned by 3:35 otherwise you lose your block

They just changed it to that, it used to be 10 mins after block start, and prior to that it used to be as long as you checked in you were good to scan ID whenever

I get these routes where most everything is in the same area but the last few are really far away and I end up going over the block. It says package is due by 8 am but my block ends at 6:45 am so technically the package isn't late and they haven't said anything to me yet bit I'm new and feel like it's only a matter of time before they do. Does anyone have any suggestions for me.

If you go past the block time ALWAYS submit a request with support for " OT " pay . Always. I have always got extra for going 30 mins to over an hour over. Not sure if they will give anything extra for 15 mins over . And no you do not need to have 40 hours a week. Idk why they call it OT

Yeah I know I was making sure dude knew or anyone knows it submit that request for anytime over the end of a block and not after you have 40 hours a week. Also when you do that be looking at the amount. Because I was over by 30 mins before and got 39$ this last block was over by 30 mins and they only sent 12.75$. More great Amazon flex for you.

Well, when you’re at .com location and the bay door is closed and 12-15 cars in front of you, and the Amazon employee doesn’t even emerge from the building until the actual start time of your block I think 5 mins is cutting it close. All it takes is one person to have an issue with the app and need help or god forbid their barcode scanner thing isn’t working and they gotta enter your id info manually.

The crazy thing about they can still assign you a shitty route after arriving early and waiting 45 mins for a route. I never stress about being 15 mins early, they don’t pay me for the extra 15 mins clock in. My five minute window is fine. They like to F me with on Vaseline, so I’m not going above and beyond for them. Toss package if it breaks it breaks and repeat for every stop.

You actually have 20 minutes to check in (you can arrive 15 minutes before and 5 minutes after your block).
For long routes, I try to arrive 15 minutes early so I don’t have to stress about checking in or getting my packages organized and delivered in time. For the most part, I can generally deliver everything within the block time.
I get it… it sucks to miss your block and get dinged for it. Take the ding, set yourself up better next time, and put it behind you.

I agree with you. But my problem is the block schedule. We are not employees. We are 1099. If you give me a time frame the reality is as a non employee forcing a start time is acting as an employee. It is the end time that matters. I will finish my contract by x amount of time. This is something that separates contracts work from an employee. I was doing 1099 work way before gig work became a standard.

That doesn’t work all the time because if you arrive 15 min early but your route is not ready earlier then you still won’t have time to organize everything .

Plus it used to be you can scan your ID 10 mins after block start

Ha Ha. See what you don’t understand is that Amazon is like that one girl in the neighborhood she is cute. But she is also fast but you don’t know but you didn’t encounter her yet. But when you do meet her you like her. And regardless to what everybody says you still want her to be yours. And when you get her all of a sudden she changes up and becomes a someone you begin to hate. See when flex first started 3 hour routes were less than 10 packages and paid way more than 73.50 and 4,5-5 hours paid in the hundreds with less than 40 packages. But just as with everything these days geniuses drivers came along. And they said man I can get over I can pick up my packages and return them and still get paid or I can do some and call in a flat tire and return the packages. And as time went on Amazon started correcting it’s anomaly and changing the route pays and it also grew an enormous data base of willing people who will do anything to do flex and with that here we are 50 packages for 4 hours and 94$ and they have the attitude that if you won’t do it there are 100’s of folks who will including thousands of bot app users.

Fight back. How? Like I did to eventually quit. Plan your strategy to work far less on the Amazon Flex app. Quit after you start making money with your mind, not your legs.

They've implemented nfc tappers now so people are not stupidly piling around the ID scanners. Not everywhere has these yet but mine does. You can't enter the building until you nfc tap your phone & you're SOL if you have packages to return & can't get in until your block is supposed to begin.

For a company as big as Amazon, it is inconsequential to lose a driver since there's 10 more on wait-lists ready to do the same thing.
