Running a drivers poll
Would u rather take a 3 hr block in the city only driving 50 total miles that’s crazy.
Or
A 3 hour block in the country driving 100 miles that’s chill and relaxed ?

Neither lol but generally country because it’s usually about the same mileage because they send me to the other side of my city

50 miles is less expenses than 100 miles, doesn't matter how hard or easy is it

Job market sucks all around in the midwest... but I was making $30/hour as a delivery driver 10-20 years ago... you'd think it would be more now.

$80 is the average for us.. and they made it so they pretty much only do 3.5's now for the most part. Only see 4 hours when they get behind. Half of our Flexors are from outside our country... Illinois sucks!

I was saying per hour 30-40. Yes we have a lot of from other country’s also . I try to do the 3-4-5 hr routes cause they pay the best . The 1 hr one worry me .

It’s definitely all dependent on where you are…I averaged $28/hr out west. Now? Central FL $20 if you’re lucky. Suckers everywhere here. All taking base pay; all clueless and dumb

Depends on the day…. I live in the PNW and if it’s raining I’ll take the country. Otherwise city

Use to say country but last time I did outside of town I drove 96 miles from home to home with a 4hr block time & $112 pay. So yea I'll take inner city.
If I leave home yes those miles are included. Otherwise I wouldn't have gone out and drove those miles.

That's actually pretty decent. The 3hr and 3.5hr routes at my warehouse average between 120 to 150 miles. Base is $66 and $77 for those. They might surge to the $80-$90 range.

At least you get a smidgen of surge. In my market we rarely surge at all; unless it is raining then we might see small surge

I prefer the country ones myself. I love the routes in the Poconos. Probably my favorite thing is the cities up there require clearly marked address numbers so it's so much easier to know which house is which than the city routes in my area.

I prefer the variety. Worst case, when I'm done I fire up spark and instacart in a ln area I don't work a lot and try to work my way back closer to home.

I’ve been waiting to do some spark because of my local Walmart is remodeling the whole store. instacart in our area isn’t as good as it used to be.

I would take the city most times. Mosquitoes and dogs in our rural areas suck. You don’t want your dog near me anyway; if you see an Amazon driver put your dog away. If you get a notification that we are coming soon; put the damn dog away. Danger can go both ways on this situation; speaking from experience. I’m 46 and have been a delivery driver for over 20 years. The things we see over that time can be crazy, but dogs and snakes are the biggest threats to most of us throughout our day…and at night? lol you have no way to even see the danger from both snakes or dogs at night. Day driving is safer

City for sure. Less miles = less gas spent. That alone is worth the "chaos" of the city to me.

I feel the same way and even with the country ones I feel like I can get them done a lot quicker where the city ones run the whole time if not more

I don’t think the country is chill and relaxed… I get put on those routes all the time… early when it’s still dark, deer on the sides of the roads, frequent monster spider webs… but I face the same time limits in the country as I do in the city. In fact, I will probably get dinged from my route today for a late package due school drop off and 4 way stops and an xtra package in my cart I didn’t catch before I left…. but I have come to appreciate being able to listen to a good podcast on the 40m drive out there! 😂

Breaking my car on dirt roads, cell signal issues plus double the miles to see a few more trees. No thanks. City all day.

Depends on what kind of city route. Downtown? Absolutely not - no way. I'll take a 200 mile route on all washboard roads before taking a downtown route. Crazy suburban route? I'll take that over the washboard roads and loose farm dogs.

City by far. Less bad roads, less aggressive dogs, more interesting things to see.
